the butterfly is Philemon, basically the dude that gives the Persona 1 and 2 characters the ability to summon Personas (including the ability of the Wild Card for ALL of them). Philemon stops appearing after Persona 2, but he continues to watch over he Protagonists (and Aigis in Persona 3: The Answer) as a butterfly, until their journey is finished. He even watches the events of Q and Q2.

Is this a joke? Passion project? These are games made by hundreds of people with great production value. Not something a university student would make in his freetime

@@micahsarm And that means it cant be a passion project? You can have a whole team of devs and still have a passion project. Thats how this kind of thing works. You can still be passionate about something a whole teams works on. It doesn't take a genius to see that Atlus, and P Studio specifically puts way more effort and heart into their game's compared to a lot of devs out there today.

@@ianbeasley2092 The word "passion project" is used for projects done by a single person, usually of poor production value but made with love, and is often used for school projects that are more than adequate. In this case, saying "This game was made with love" would be a better way to convey what you're trying to say.

Kinda late, but I think both games have merits to them. P3F has the cool anime fmvs and The Answer while P3P has FeMC and is also on modern consoles.

10. Persona 1 Portable: The more I watch this intro the more I like it. I like the song, I like the fact it looks like a pop-up book, and I like the fact It foreshadows Maki's character arc and plays into the themes of the game. Overall a really good intro. 9. Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight: This game is tied with P3D for being the worst Persona game for me but god damn this intro is just too good. More so a compliment for the game as a whole but the outfits they have the crew dress in are so damn cool and I'm so glad they added these as DLC costumes in Royal. I really love the neon red which the characters are surrounded. The Choreography isn't getting hard to see like P3D no one's face is weird like in P4D plus Groovy is a super good song. Not sure what else I could've asked for in this intro If only the rest of the game was like this. 8. Persona Q2 New Cinema Labyrinth: This intro is really good but what hold's it back is it feels like it has a lack of focus. We spend a lot of time looking at P5's cast and a bit of P3's and P4's but really none of them do much for the plot. The main focus is on Hikari in the game. I will say though I love the Q games art style and this intro is animated beautifully, I'm especially impressed by the rotating view shot of Joker at 34:16 the shot with Hikari at 34:27 Representing how she was shunned by basically everyone but her father for being different. A flawed but great intro. 7. Persona 4 in Mayonaka Arena: THIS INTRO KICKS ASS. The unique use of red and black makes this intro stand out as the characters have this heavy shading on the characters. The slight peak at Aigis, Mitsuru, and Akihiko gets me hyped up, and the thing I love most about this intro is the fact that the characters do the moves from the game. Chie's god's hand? You can do that in the game. Yukiko's Maragidyne? yep, she can do that too. Kanji punching you into the ground? yep. the only thing I could say against this intro is the fact Teddie oddly is barely in it but like I said with P5D nothing more I could've asked for. 6. Persona Q Shadow of the Labyrinth: I don't like the game but I really enjoy this intro. The use of Blue and Yellow gives me this happy feeling and on the whole, this intro feels like a celebration of P3 and P4. Shout out to 25:58 where Koromaru jumps and Shinji is about to catch him but then Kanji does and Koromaru starts biting Kanji. This intro also teases Rei's backstory, the bosses, and the clock towers relevancy. Simple and effective. 5. Persona 2 Innocent Sin Portable: While I think the song is alright the visuals come at a rapid-fire pace while also having substance to it. At 16:47 we zoom into The Joker's eye, We first see the different Arcana, Then a small tease of Philemon, and finally women talking which are supposed to represent the rumor system. We then see Maya with kid Maya in the background teasing the fact that she is Big sis. This intro also has multiple shoots showcasing the shrine and what happened there for example at 16:58 we see Tatsuya surrounded by a bunch of lit candles and right after that we see The Joker crying blood while the mask of the original Mask circle is behind him, or when Maya gets chained up at 17:23. We even get several teases to Jun here at 17:25 and 18:11 showing how important Tatsuya and Jun's friendship is (and also the fact Tatsuya x Jun is semi-canon). Amazing intro. 4. Persona 2 Eternal Punishment Portable: This intro is basically a remake of the PSX intro and man did they knock it out of the park. The theme kicks so much ass and feels really intense which is fitting. This intro has multiple shots of Philemon's butterfly. The shot at 20:44 looks like it's supposed to represent how multiple people can be The Joker via the Joker curse. The shot at 21:00 is a brilliant way to convey the fact that he chooses to remember the other world. 21:12 Shows off Ulala's jealousy. My personal favorite part of the intro is at 21:27. No shot is crazy good on it's IMO but this intro just has a really good shot after a really good shot which is what gets it so high on my list. 3. Persona 3: I mean is there anyone who doesn't love this intro? Seriously almost everything about this intro is brilliant. The multiple references to Memento Mori, The early 2000's feel, The great use of blue, Hell even the use of red are great. This intro is awesome and I think it should be a no-brainer why this is in the top 3. 2. Persona 5: I thought Persona 3 and P4 Mayonaka Arena had great use of red but P5 knocks it out of the park with its outstanding red and black combo. Seeing the characters dance and jump around this red sky makes them feel free like nothing is chaining them down anymore. Yusuke's painting in Never give in at least to me almost gives off the feeling that they've been quiet to injustice for so long and now that they have power are speaking out. and the thing I find most interesting is that we barely see the characters in their Phantom Thief attire except for Morgana at 29:15. while we're on that the word Luxuria is a synonym of lust which foreshadows Kamoshida. Futaba typing on the computer is not only a nice way to show off the other 3 (Haru is way sassier here than she is in all of P5 media) but provides a nice segway into the velvet room. While Caroline and Justine still have color Igor is a pure gray which may not set off flags on a first playthrough or especially if P5 was your first Persona game like me. Finally, Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There Is awesome. 1. Persona 4: This was my introduction to Persona and Megami Tensei, P5 was my first Persona game but this intro showed me a taste of what this series had to offer. So right at the start-up to 11:28 Yu and all the others are bombarded with the lyrics and the lyrics of the song. Not the lyrics of the song are said at the moment the lyrics of the entire first verse of the song. This gives off the feeling that we are really living our lives with so much information, too much information except for Naoto who easily blows all the words out the way. This not only shows you the characters and their weapons but also shows the concept of a shadow of one's self since this is the first time since Persona 2 shadows play a huge role in the game. From there we school life, Yamano's dead body, Dojima, and Adachi, and finally the TV world. Notice how until we enter the TV world we're shown the time. Honestly, it's kinda surprising we're never shown the time in an intro except for this game considering Time management is important in 3,4, and 5. We then get a montage of how the characters present themselves to the world. Yosuke in some kind of video recorded by what seems like a family member, Kanji getting recorded beating some guys up, getting recorded in a Chie in an elevator, Yukiko at a photoshoot, Rise live on TV, and finally Naoto also on a TV but with absolutely no one paying her any mind. Perhaps something you can criticize this intro for is the fact it doesn't use yellow as well as Persona 3,5 or even 2 Eternal Punishment But I still think this intro is great regardless.

I like your opinions! Here's mine for fun, not to say yours is bad. 4th: All games except 3rd 2nd and 1st, I love all the intros and games as coming from someone who got into the series since 2019. 3rd: Tie between p3, p3fes, and p3p, I love p3 a lot and I am barely starting on p3 portable, since it's the only game I can play as of now. 2nd: Persona 5 and Persona 4 golden, while I love royal better, the intro in vanilla p5 slaps hard, and I plain love persona 4 Golden's intro since it's so catchy. Honorable mention, Vanilla persona 4 ,I love this game and intro as well, but I probably goes into with the rest in 4th. Only complaint with vanilla p4 is the voice actor for chie. 1st: Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, God where do I begin, I love the game and I love the story and gameplay, But dear God, the intro I love the most is this. That's it, this is coming from someone who has beaten all of Persona Q2 and Persona 5 Strikers, played a third of Persona 5 royal, and a little bit of Persona 3 portable .
