People are honestly talking about this ship like it's problematic or "condoning pedophilia," but honestly, it's... not that bad? It's just a bunch of precocious crush stuff that's ultimately downplayed from the Japanese version, on top of FeMC never really making a move with him until he's older (which is a common shojo trope in Japan, by the way). Is it still permissible as creepy? Yeah, that's a fair read... but what's _also_ fair is to read the text without having preconceived notions of the idea, because it's honestly rather sweet how FeMC helps Ken come to terms with his own trauma. He clearly wants to be seen more as an adult to the point of throwing away a lot of the things he loves because he thinks he's not "good enough" for them, for FeMC reinforcing him that it's okay for him to be true to himself is honestly adorable. Besides, I think a lot of the fear that it'll "normalize" pedophilia is honestly overblown, given a.) reality can influence the creation of fiction by author intent, but fiction cannot influence reality if the reader can medically distinguish between fantasy and reality (like is the case with crime simulators versus the actual thing; you don't see actual criminals popping up because of Grand Theft Auto, and the ones who do cannot _medically_ make the distinction), and b.) just let people who like the ship like it. Y'all people keep cheering on harassing Ken/FeMC shippers while *also* cheering on fanfics of Akira getting his ass destroyed by Akechi or Iwai despite both of those two being a major to Akira's minor, so acting like this is somehow deserving of condemnation for "promoting problematic imagery" when Persona does this shit _all the time_ is just peak anti-shipper logic. Overall, the ship is cute and admittedly my guilty pleasure ship. There's nothing more to it for me than that.
