Honestly I don’t think P4’s combat is a step down from P3’s (the original 3 versions of P3, obviously. P3R is arguably the best iteration of combat in the series). While P4 is much easier than P3, I think P3 suffers with a lot of superficial difficulty like bullshit 1-shot moves and bad AI

Probably in 2023 P4 should be compared to P5, not P3. I'm new to the series, and I'm finishing P5R. I know they are creating a remake of P3. But should I still play P4G? Or will it be a downgrade? Beacause when I look at screenshots and teailers of P4 AFTER I've experienced P5R, they shurely look like a downgrade.

I mean, the visuals are obviously worse but the story and cast are the best out of those 3 for me personally. If you are okay with playing a worse looking game there is a lot to enjoy, the combat is marginally worse though mostly because physical is 1 type, where its 2 in p5 and 3 in P3.

Coming from someone who also played P5R first it's definitely an easier game to pick up compared to P4G, but that doesn't ruin the experience of golden. Sure it's not as smooth an experience but that doesn't take away from the great story and characters. It's different than royal but nothing hard to get used to, and I personally found the main cast to be more enjoyable than the phantom thieves. Plus there's Adachi so 10/10

I’d say the only major flaw I found in the game is the true ending boss, which is way too tacked on, unconnected and unnecessary. Other than that, the game is great.
