I loved Persona 5 sooo much. The characters, the atmosphere, the music, everything. I would give it a 9/10. The only reason is because the tutorial was around 4 hours long and some annoying thing's not being able to do certain things. Man this game was so good, to be honest this game is secretly a superhero game and definitely my favorite superhero game.

I legit just beat Persona 5 for the first time a few minutes ago. Dear god it was long, but it was amazing. Easily the best RPG Ive played since P4G and Witcher III.

First persona game and I absolutely loved it. Way more fun than FFXV. IMO

Atlus Japan were worried that people would just watch a lets play of the game on youtube. Instead of people going out to actually buy and play the game, that's why there was weird streaming rules.

While I've played other Megami Tensei games (Nocturn, IV, Digital Devil Saga I and II, Soul Hacker) this was my first Persona game. I loved the hell out of it. I spent more time than usual on my first playthrough, like 220 hours. I was a little depressed when I finally beat it.

Persona 5 & Bloodborne are the 2 greatest games of this gen imo

The culmination of the theme of order vs. chaos at the end of the game was just awesome. I honestly believe it is right up there with the best RPG's ever made. The soundtrack is just godly.

Persona 5 is my favourite game of all time. I mean, for one, I'm told the main character looks like me, which was a plus, but just thematically I related to it on a deep level. You throw the incredible visuals and music on top of all that, and you have what I consider to be a perfect game.

I love the game because it makes me happy, my life in the games makes me feel more like I belong than real life and I love having friends in the game because real life is never like that for me 10/10.

We just beat Persona 5 last week, I'm seriously suffering from Persona 5 withdrawl... The game set the bar so high that I just don't know how anything can live up to it. I almost have an empty feeling. I miss the characters so much What a lovely game, everything about it was 10/10 for me atleast.

this is the very first Persona game I played and I'm addicted to it I love the story and all of the characters in it so far I'm on my second New Game Plus. yesterday I was elated that they had a Figma Joker figure for pre-order I just bought the bullet and pre-ordered that sucker I love Joker he's actually my favorite character along with Ryuuji and Ann. the only thing I would change in it was the ability to go to repeat palaces. anyone who is not played a Persona title ever they should give this one a chance it's really good

BEST JRPG IN YEARS !

I love every single bit of that game 10/10! I haven't heard of Persona when it came out because I was playing Zelda at that time. I've suddenly become interested in it a few weeks ago and bought it - it hit me so hard. I've seen the trailer the first time AFTER I finished the game and there were just too many spoilers to be honest. That game totally consumed me for around 190h in my first playthrough. Not only that but it is so good that I immediately started a new game just to see every aspect of that game.

What a happy coincidence, i just finished Persona 5 today, and as a long time Persona fan, it is the game of the generation for me.

There is a lot of talking in this game, but I think a lot of the time aspect with it is that Majority of it is voice acted. There are sooo many scenes in this game that are fully voice acted with great acting to make it feel natural. I didn't skip a single one, I'm sure that increased my time by a LOT.

awesome Review and Kim is such a treat. I really enjoyed Persona 5, if I were to point out one thing I didn't like about Persona 5, later on in the game if you get Ryuji's Confidant up, you get the insta-kill ability when you ambush a demon. I kinda wish you could turn it off sometimes because I couldn't grind. Especially after you get the confidant abilities to get double exp/yen for successfully ambushing a demon, if your insta-killing them you forfeiting the double exp and yen

The problem with text heavy games is that I'll read for a bit then get impatient and start pounding the A-button to hurry it up but then I'll skip over something important which will drive me crazy. Though I'm still really excited to play this game. I don't let my impatience ruin good games. Though I do wish that they could cut down the text dialog to less lines. P.S. More Kim videos please.

Actually beat the seventh palace just last night on 12/2. I'll be back to check out this video in a few days. I have Tower, Hanged Man, Empress, Devil, and Fortune left to max, between ranks 3 and 6. I'm certain I'm not gonna have enough time to complete them all.

Persona 5 was to my own suprise probably the best jrpg I have ever played. I never much cared for 4 so I went in to 5 with looow expectations, I was 100% sure I wouldn't finish it. But I finished it and will probably replay it soon.

I'm at Flgiphember(no idea. Two months before December, the one before Novermber(sorry, I'm not from an english-speaking country, I'm from Finland)) and I'm loving this game! I like the characters and story from the fourth one a bit more at this point, but everything else is better. It's so stylish.

I really enjoyed the Music in Persona 5. It had that crazy anime music feel that could get you pumped up and then bring you to tears. The characters were very enjoyable. I don't think that there was a character in the game that I didn't love. From the heroes all the way to the villains I thought they were all depicted beautifully! I got to say if there was a downside it was how long the game took to ramp up but honestly that wasn't even that hard to deal with. it felt like I was playing a game in between watching anime episodes. Epic game should be getting more attention! Should Rival BoTW for game of the year but sadly will probably be overlooked.

I dont't get why americans (at least i think they are americans) adore to say that a game had to much text as a con, i adore when a game is very text heavy like persona 5 or older rpgs, the story, the caracter and the world feel so much more fleshed out.

I just finished persona 5 an hour ago with 109 hours, I couldnt wait to watch this video once I saw it pop up a few months ago (actually wow August was a long ass time ago). Full on agree with all your comments actually, the dialog portions sometimes did drag and it felt so good once I got into a palace and got a "break" from the heavy story moments. Battle and HUDs were amazing, but ambushes pissed me off hella hard, plus missing lol. Great review man love you guys!

I'm a massive fan of persona 3 and 4 and it's my opinion that 5 is a worthy sequel and I hold it to the same quality as persona 3 and 4. I have tried with persona 1 and couldn't like it as much but seriously 3, 4 and 5 are masterpieces and make my favriot games of all time :)

Johnny, buddy, I have a request that you play and make videos about The Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky, and the entire Trails series from Falcom and localized by XSEED. I have never heard you talk about them, or know if you have even played them, it seems like they would have been a shoe in for you considering you are such a big fans of Ys, they are on PSN and Steam and they are honestly Falcoms best work as of late. The earlier games are like old PS1 gems that hit you right in the feels, Kim would love them too (YAY to female lead characters). First time I played a game like this and I love it. About 90 hours in. I think I'm almost at the end.

One thing I noticed about P4 to P5 is that P5 lacks the psychological analysis of the characters "persona". In 4 each character had a darker hidden side to their character and it was cool to explore that because I think humans can be a lot like that. That's my one real gripe with this game, other than that it's a 10/10

They only gave it an 8.5 after all that praise? For me it's definitely top 3 games on the PS4, and arguably the best. I say that as somebody who's never played a turn-based JRPG, either.

Just now finishing up the space station palace. Definitely an amazing game, both graphically and mechanically. But in the end I'm still a mainline SMT fanboy at heart....looking at you switch SMT. Oh yeah and I definitely teared up at the end of FF IX

I'm getting it on discount I loved Persona 4 Golden on my Vita ... went in knowing NOTHING about the game until completion when I thought that the somber ending was suspicious as I thought some 'other character' was a bit creepy who was not accused. My jaw dropped when I surfed the web for answers.

Loved this game but i hated the time constraint as i couldnt do as much as I wanted to because i wanted to theres so many characters i wanted to hang out with, theres so many activities i wanted to do and I cant stand that within the next few hours the game will be over

This is the first time I ever min maxed a jrpg, cause it's easy here to make a weak early persona into a power house becoming more useful that the actual higher level personas in new game plus I finally was able to keep my starter persona thanks to it, and Arsene is my favorite starter.

i'm really taking my time with this game! I played SMT nocturne back in the day and loved it! I played persona3 and 4 but yeah this game is so awesome!!!

Love the game speaking of talking i did find myself under leveled as all hell in each new palace, but it sort make up for it with the progression to be able to make demons that counter or resist certain attacks when you get the jist of how each palace work

Persona 5 is my second favorite game of all time. Beaten only by Dragon Quest 9.

I think the game is awesome. One of the small gripes I have with the game is that you can't go do an evening activity after story driven conversations. That part always bugs me. If I were to rate the game it would be a 8.9 out of 10.

Beat it twice 153 hours and so change got all the high levels persona and max out all my characters and max out all my persona except one might have to play it again for that tower arcana one it tricky with that one. lol glad you guys enjoyed it

I pretty much have the reverse opinion from you guys, in that I liked the talking parts of the story much more than the fighting parts. I only went into Mementos when I absolutely had to. Still, the fighting parts are much better than in P4 and hugely improved from P3. I did enjoy P5 game immensely, it's my second favourite game of all time (behind Persona 4 Golden which had slightly more interesting plot and characters).

What about relationships, & what girl did she pick in P5 on first game & NG+?

I missed the mystery part that was there in p3 and p4. They tried, but, at least to me, it was bluntly obvious who the bad guy was, who would erm.. 'stand in your way' ( to avoid spoilers). That was my biggest problem with the game. I have a few other problems with it. Some characters i got annoyed with, some aspects weren't explained well enough (the reason behind the other world), despite the amount of text. I loved the game, but.. I still see plenty of room to improve. Not the combat tho. Loved the combat

The first game i ever finished was Megaman X4 with Zero way back in the fourth grade. Sure I played lots of games before but most of the time I just watched my big bro play and only got to try games after he's done with em. when the PS2 came out I got to keep the PS1 and his entire library! I loved CSotN but X4 really gave lots of great memories. It was a time where I had no idea what I was doing [even the elemental rock paper scissors was a frigging mystery to me!] for some time during that run I had no idea how to pull off the special moves that zero learned from kicking robo master butt! It gave me the determination vibes I got outta Undertale before it was even a thing and for that I will always be grateful!

I know the mac pro you've been using was used when you bought it and i was wondering if you got that used and used it for 5 plus years then you should upgrade to a 2012 iMac for 500 and i've seen the listings and they look good for their price and it might be well worth the money.

That ending, yeah, I agree, you were a stranger in that house, but eventually, it did end up feeling like home, and the music emphasized it.

When I heard you say you got the review copy but didn't review it I was like wtf. Then I lol'd and remembered how good this game was and I needed time to sit back and think about it on how much I enjoyed it. I felt like a freshmen or foreigner when playing this game because most of the signs were in Japanese and I couldn't believe this I got lost my first day of going to school in game. This is a game that grows on you though and yes you'll feel pissed and depressed your first couple hours playing this because of how you are treated in game which reminds me of Heavy Rain where the game purposely gets you depressed.

Honestly Kim is more of a hardcore gamer than most of us...lol

I really want to like JRPGs...but they are just sooooo grindy! And not a kind of grind that I can get into indefinitely. I started out loving this game, but after about 60 hrs it started feeling far too same-ish, and then I looked at the walkthrough online and discovered I wasn't even halfway through O.O. It's just too much for this guy. The pacing is too slow for me and sadly it lost me. I love listening to you guys review games though! I'm actually thinking about jumping back into it after watching this.

I need to play this game. I went through a phase of hating anime, and by extension jrpgs, because of all the cliches. But I've read some really good manga lately that has gotten me back into respecting it again.

I finally played Persona 4 golden on my pstv I loved the world that was created but I was expecting so much more because it was so hyped up for me =( but I can tell it was a great game. I got hooked on the music. I have persona 5 Im looking forward to that

I was kinda lil late into playing it this year but it was trully the best jrpg i have played this year. It took me month and a half to beat this. I was very satified til the end. I feel this game has put the aspects of 2,3, and 4. This game had really reshape the jrpg community, its just been along time since we got a really good jrpg tbh

For those who loved Persona 5 (such as me) I highly, highly recommend the Shin Megami Tensei series. Persona is a spinoff from the Shin Megami Tensei series. The Mainline SMT games are more tedious, mature and challenging to play. There are a few other spinoffs such as Devil Summoner, Devil Survivor and Digital Devil Saga etc. Excluding Persona, Shin Megami Tensei is a niche series and IT DESERVES a lot of recognition. If you want to start with the SMT series play either: Shin Megami Tensei 3: Nocturne, Shin Megami Tensei IV and IV Apocalypse and Devil Survivor 1 and 2. I'm a beginner to the SMT series however, it's thanks to Persona 5 for boosting my interest towards the SMT series. I would love to play the majority of it's games. Hell I think it's a great idea that you all should start playing SMT and buy atleast 2 SMT games to play for starters.

I'm sorry if I missed this but pls give me recommendations similar to persona5!!! I'm having withdrawal!! Preferably for ps4 but I have several older consoles that I'm willing to bring out for something just as satisfying as persona 5
