Since I was a big Sentai Fan back in the day I can say that while Grey Pigeons story does have some refence to Sentai 6th Rangers it doesn’t refence the Sentai that Featherman is most based on, Jetman had no 6th member in the actual show, in fact Jetman was the last show before the 6th Ranger ever became a trope, but the idea of being a human experimented on by aliens who gained his powers through that method brings to 2016’s Zyu-Oh TheWorld, being part of a villainous fraction and fighting their monsters at some point, as well as going away from civilianisation to stop a bomb that’s a part of his power set brings to mind 2004’s Abare Killer….. So in regards to the Featherman Seeker and Wakaba connections. I feel it doesn’t hurt Wakaba being a sympathetic parent compared to the other parents, the thing with the Phantom Thieves parents that are focused on is that they tend to be either actively neglectful or abusive towards their children, which Wakaba never is and if she did experiment on Akechi, Akechi isn’t her child. and even then then the details are different enough, like how sending Grey Pigeon out to take out specific targets that are on the side of said executive, using Grey Pigeon for her own ends to try to dispose of them, sounds a lot like Shido was having Akechi take out targets that worked for including allies as Okumura and the SIU Director and even wanting to become an executive is like Shido becoming prime minister, and since iy is a s metaphor we don’t know exactly how this relates to real life in Persona 5, Akechi being experimented on by Wakaba could be something he decided on. We just done know because it’s vague.

I wonder if this means P5 might pull a "party member was the true villain" twist, only unlike with Akechi, it will be an actual twist this time. Well, while the public now knows the leader of the Phantom Thieves is still alive, they still don't know who it is, to be fair. So speaking of Akechi, I took a day to mull over the ending of your previous video about his wild ride, where he gets to kill Joker in Vanilla P5 after you defeat him. Assuming it isn't a bug/error, maybe the "more sinister" thought is that the real Akechi truly died, and Shido found a way to bring cognitive Akechi into the real world to replace the real Akechi? That would be pretty crazy.

It's nice to have you back, I hope your vacation was nice! As for the bit in the planetarium, I tend to think of it much the same way you do; sure, we are microscopically small on a cosmic scale, to the extent that our actions are not impacting the broader universe, but to me that doesn't mean that our existence is pointless. Instead, it means that we get to choose what the point of our existence is, what the ultimate goal of humanity should be. It means that we get to decide our own future in our own corner of the universe--maybe no one else will ever see that legacy, but I like to think that the legacy is more for our own sake.

For the former, just beat Chapter 2 of it, so I'm halfway through the main story which is nice (though given I plan to take on a lot of the optional content as well, got a long way to go to beat this game). And for the latter, finished up Chapter 3 last night, which is where after the high points at Chapter 2's end, is where I think the game certainly picks up and becomes more enjoyable. 27:52- I'm going to assume it might be a dramatization since none of the people on the screen look like the P4G Culprit at all. They all look too old and not as skinny as he was. 28:12- I'm just curious on how they would handle all of the TV world stuff if the Culprit tried mentioning any of that or if the show writers just made up/changed things about how he killed his victims. This is the first time I'm hearing about that Wakaba-Akechi Theory and that doesn't hold much water considering what we learn about the Metaverse and how he got his powers from you-know-who. Besides, I think that Akechi being Gray Pidgeon most likely references how he died in the original P5, and how he was the "Sixth Ranger"/"Sixth Ranger Traitor" of the group. Besides having Akechi being responsible for his actions and fate hits harder than some crackpot theory that tries to wipe the blood off his hands.

In the former I got to just after saving Fuuka and in the latter I was just told where Micaiah's ring is. Some unsorted thoughts on both: - Some people were bothered by the visual novel aspects of P3P, but once I got the hang of it I didn't mind the lack of walking in the overworld. - It would seem that this game and P4G were translated in german by the same people who did P5R. And while the quality is noticeably better and more consistent, there are still the occasional oddly formatted lines. - I did like the question though where in class they asked what pan means in german and then on the exam they asked what it means in english. - When I first saw Bebe talking to a teacher in the halls, I was disappointed by him speaking completely normally. But then when I saw him in the Old Couple social link, I was so happy to see him go all in on the french accent. The translators seemed like they were really having fun there. - Thinking about it, I noticed that a lot of the SMT characters who aren't ethnically japanese fall into the whole blue-eyed blond image. Off the top of my head, there's Bebe, Lisa Silverman, Teddie, Ann Takamaki, Eleonora Yumizuru, and Ichiro Dazai. - Also, for whatever reason the japanese dub was set as the default. Don't know why. - I have a habit of grinding when I see a skill I really want. But it has paid off so far, like getting Ice Boost on Jack Frost and especially having a persona with both Auto-Tarukaja and Auto-Sukukaja at only level 12. - If you're having trouble with Theodore's request for the Juzumaru, I know I got one out of a sword card in shuffle time. - I am noticing some of the quality of life improvements from later games missing. Especially getting duplicate personas giving experience to said persona. - How do heart items work again? - Pulinpa is fun when it hits. - I'm not following a guide as I prefer doing things like this at my own pace. I especially like the Monday to Wednesday night part-time job at the cafe as it gives a boost to charm and guts plus 2.500 and later 3.000 yen. - Alear being called the divine one in spoken dialogue definitely doesn't get annoying after a while. - Say what you will about Fates but at least we've seen Corrin being a dragon by this point in the game. All we've seen of Alear being a divine dragon is their ability to turn on the rings and being able to sleep for a thousand years. We've seen more of their doomed to die mother being an actual dragon than from Alear themselves. - So far the gameplay is really fun, but I need to readjust my muscle memory from Three Houses. And I probably won't be able to fully appreciate it since I'm playing on normal until I get a feel for the new mechanics. - I do kinda miss all dialogue being voiced from Echoes and Three Houses. Especially since base conversations are mostly just one line per character. - I also miss Three Houses' feature where you could see where the characters are on the map. Though that does sound like something that'll be added in a future update. - I found it so funny when I realized that the villain lady with the horns is obviously voiced by the same woman who did Sae. But I also noticed that a large number of major characters are voiced by smaller name actors. Whether that's due to them wanting to give new talent some exposure or the most of the VA budget going to the emblem characters I can't say. - Speaking of that horny woman, I did find it strange when she said she'd never heard of Alear before when people coming to watch them sleep was apparently something of a tourist attraction. And then I realized how creepy that sounded once I thought it out loud. - I am so thankful for Bond Crystals being given to you anyway if you don't see all of the base conversations. - How do you equip the gacha rings? - Alear just casually kidnapping random animals from around Elyos is pretty funny. - I noticed a lack of S-Supports in the menu. Seems they might be moving away from that.

P3P update: I was facing The Reaper (note: I play my first playthrough on the easiest difficulty and subsequent trying to get all the social links playthroughs) and I was so close to beating him AND I RAN FROM THE BATTLE!!! *Screams of despair*

I didn’t mention this, but by the time you were on vacation, I was playing hades(I had actually got the 2022 on a sale but did only play recently). The thing I can said about is this: this game is kicking my ass, but I don’t care it amazing. After playing some game that had good story/writing(games being off and one shot) but had more slow pace gameplay, it nice to have something more fast pact. By the way I did beat Hades the first time last night, even if I did cheese it with the shield. I will it a pretty fitting game to play for the winter given…..well spoilers.

Now that Shido is finished we just need to do a few more things. Like Mementos targets. Hopefully the next several are simply just peaceful endeavors. It'll be interesting to see what will be the reaction of Shidos change of heart.

I just realised that Akechi and Shido up to this point were Twin Dragons becoming secretly wanted to ruin the other to become the big bad. I can imagine an alternate universe where Akechi kills Shido after you beat Shido. After you beat him because he tries to kill Joker he escapes. Then he confesses his crimes to the world to completely destroy Shido's image, ending the arc.

"Electoral" is a type of election map, while a poll is a test of opinion. 48:20 As far as the Featherman game as a representation of the actual backstory goes, it's important to note that it's an unclear metaphor at best; while Osagiri and Alya are the same person in Featherman, it's completely possible that Alya was representing Wakaba's boss and/or successor, putting Wakaba in a situation more similar to Yukari's father in P3. It doesn't leave Wakaba perfectly blameless, but I honestly prefer that; good people can still make mistakes without ruining their "good person" status -- heck, Sojiro is pretty darn cruel to Joker initially, but he's still considered an unambiguously good parent! Even if Wakaba was experimenting on Akechi to try to improve his powers, I doubt she would have been doing so against his will, and I imagine she would have genuinely thought improving his powers would help him survive in the Metaverse... and just when she realized what would have been happening, she was killed for knowing too much. Likewise, even if Akechi _had_ been experimented upon unwillingly, that doesn’t remove his own agency and responsibility from his actions. Yes, certain fans love to use every scrap of evidence they can to woobify Akechi, but personally I find that to be a betrayal of both Akechi himself ( _he_ certainly wouldn't appreciate people woobifying him) and the game itself. One of the big themes of this game is _nuance_ and not falling into the habit of making assumptions based on stereotypes or thinking in extremes, but the fanbase as a whole really likes to flatten the entire game down into black-and-white thinking, which really disappoints me. ...well that was a bit longer of a rant than I expected to write today, whoops. xD 48:38 Hey, no, Yukiko's cooking is _fine_ by the end, as long as she's not cooking with Chie and as long as she isn't dating Yu. Like, All-Out Attack finishers are, if anything, even campier than the usual "turn around and pose while the monster explodes", especially with everyone not only getting Ranger-esque one-liners, but also getting those text lines too, like Ren's "The Show's Over!" and Yusuke's "It was fun while it lasted. Goodbye." ...If anything, the game could afford to have a bit more Sentai in it-- As much as I like the team shots we've gotten, they really could've gone just a little bit campier and had the Phantom Thieves deliberately do cool team poses. Oh well. The Featherman theme is great, honestly. I had to watch it outside of the game to really appreciate it though. Once you get used to your Ambushes being accompanied by Take Over blaring to life, it's hard to enjoy any other song kicking off when you ambush Shadows. Songs like that are definitely best used for big, important, super triumphant moments though, rather than just regular battles. Man, this is exactly what I needed, and it's super fitting with Fire Emblem Engage releasing today, even if it's not quite Sentai so much as just early 2000s anime.
