As a Perth resident I personally enjoy the Freo markets the most. And I would come in January during the Fringe Festival, when there’s literally too much to do.

A day on Penguin Island is the best day out. You can snorkel, hire a kayak or just swim. The water is clear and the sand is powder white. You may even have a seal swim around you. We had dolphins swim with us. I spend every second weekend there in summer….. it really is a perfect place to be.

Born and bred ( '58 Swanview Hospital ) left for Darwin August 80 ...population just hit 1mil now over 2 ...then the moment you went South of Robbs Jetty abortours you were dodging rabbits and roo's now the suburbs stop 20ks South of Mandurah...then you could drive from the Nedlands hotel to Dianella after a dozen beers and see 20 cars total ! now good luck ( rightfully so ) then a busy surf at Trigg was with 10 others...have you tried to get a car park there recently ? All of that said it is still the best big city in the best State ! 😎👍

Yer summer holidays going to Mandurah was a big deal back then. Really felt like you were getting away. It's crazy how far the suburbs stretch out now

@@psychedelicprawncrumpets9479 yeah after a Beetle the " power " of the " J " opened up towing a 6×4 type camper trailer to our family and as my older sisters dropped out of trips in their teens I had room to spare in the bottom half at night and more importantly on the back seat when traveling ! Augusta, Pemberton, Denmark, Albany, Dongara, Gero and Canarvon...the best learning years a young fella could have ! Cherished memories during difficult times !😎👍

I will give some adjetives of this city: modern, little, desperely boring, not full of young people, its design it is a mixure of british and american modern cities( like Los Angeles,, miami),insolated from almost all the world including the cities of Australia itself. Anyway has some special charm Olivia Newton John loved.

It used to be the best capital city in Australia in the 70's and 80's. Now it's an over populated shit hole with crime rates soaring and congested traffic. Glad I left fifteen years ago. Such a shame.

I agree and I’ve lived here all my life. I have traveled though so I can make an informed comparison. There also seems to be some intellectual inability to grasp the concept of merging. And even though I always stick to the speed limit in the left lane, I still get tailgated by some testosterone fueled tool.😒

an overpriced, extremely sleepy big country town where you get cooked 40+ C in summer, long boring wet winters that put Perth in a Coma. Ridiculously priced real estate. Massive meth epidemic, the australians.. has ok beaches though.

God I live here and had no idea how boring it was until I saw this video. Nothing she said you would do twice. Everything I have already done or is pointless and boring. How much to boat to an island to see captive penguins. I hope she got paid well to go through a thesaurus to find every positive descriptive word possible and shove them every where she could into the script. The script was so sweet and flowery and obviously over blown I threw up a little in my mouth. Like I said I live here. It's not magical I'll tell you that. I wonder if a real estate company and investors paid for this promotion as that's what it clearly is. A voice actor, drone shots every where and an over worked editor. Capitalism at its finest. Did you call us Perthy's. I have never heard that before in my life and I immediately despise the name. So much you ignored about the city for the mundane and ordinary. One of the oldest. How about the oldest. I worked on the Albion house. We have a zoo better then rats that smile and birds that forgot they should be flying not swimming and that's 2 of your high lights. What about the sky diving tower or the rotating sky restaurant. Or the gravity tower the KZfaq guys drop 100kg steel darts off an angled 45m tower. A prison and a smithy for the rich how is that an attraction and kings park and the war memorial, it is the same place . . . And good luck getting on that hill during Anzac day without an invitation. Music and food . . . I think you have yourself mixed up with Melbourne. Mind you I wouldn't live any where else. I love this country.
