Some of these guys waited a little late in life for this trip. But hats off for going for it.

Being 60 years of age, I'd smile. If I am in my 20s... I won't even notice. In my younger days, I even camp in the virgin jungle alone. Now, able to do what you guys did... It's fun.

We are retired in Cuenca Ecuador. Love checking out life in other parts of South America. I don't think traveling on a small 10 person boat in open deep water without life jackets was a very good idea. I guess you could say the program guide got your permission / waiver of liability by telling you all, "Normally you are required to wear a life jacket, however since we only have a few minutes to get you to the ship, we are going to skip that part right now", and no one protested. At least you had your belongings, and got to see and admire the wooden ship while traveling in what appears to be fast moving deep water. Do you think all of you could have made the swim to shore? One thing I have learned traveling in South America is that lawful regulations are often ignored. Good to see you wearing them on other excursions, and that you did have a safe trip. Thanks for sharing, enjoyed your video.

Do you fly in a airplane with a parachute? Even though anyone who can afford A 2 way ticket can afford 1? Don’t knock people for taking chances when you do the same just not in a boat.

41:05 There is just something wrong about this picture....Our great Indigenous peoples reduced to selling trinkets to rich tourists. Capitalism at it's worst...I just wonder how many of these tourists would have wanted their own kids to sell trinkets to passing visitors!

That is also what we thought. To see such primitive lands and then be paraded through these bazaars is like being forced through a museum gift shop to get to the exit. Somebody struck a deal with the locals to allow tourists, if........ It is what it is. We can only hope the mutually positive experiences outweigh any damages. Thanks for your comment.

but its socialism that is funding them.

this is a cc movie, if you had to listen to all the host chatter you would have to change channel. sometimes quiet and nice scenery are enough, this is one of those times.

bob hennis I agree with your comment. I am still experimenting with Movie Maker so my attempts at creativity often fall short. Maybe you gained some insight regarding National Geographic trips. I kinda liked the selection of music, if I say so myself. Thanks for taking time to comment. John

so was it really worth it? did you see pink dolphins????

Food and staff were excellent. As you can see by the video, the boat rides could get boring if you were not a hard core photographer. Very educational. Good for families.

we did see pink dolphins and swam near them.

Sad, in so-many ways... hard to believe that this type of pathetic and cruel tourism still exists.

First I gave thumb up then I change my mind because passengers won't buy trinkets from those children. Consider donating to the community.

Great effort. Audio is a disaster. Learn to edit then repost w out the amplified wind noise. ect, ect, can't hear what's being said most of the time.

I’m not sure how much this venture cost, I’m sure u didn’t know the outcome of it, but I’m sure, plus ur typed words n the video, it was a rip off tourist trap. Reading the comments, u said everyone bought trinkets, if that were so, then the children and adults on that dock the two boats pulled up to, would all be full of smiles, there were more people n the two boats than people on the dock, when the one guy bought something from the little girl, someone said “did u see her face”, sure I did, happy little girl with a smile, cause someone bought something from her, I also saw the other faces, no smiles on their face, cause no one bought from them. I’m not rich, but if I were to have saved up to go on this trip, I would have bought something from each of them, seeing their smiles would have made the trip worth while. The rest, seeing ants, a snake, a flock of parakeets, and what ever the guid saw n the trees that no one else saw, was quite boring. I know it bored u to, and wish it was more adventurous for u. Thank u

Those cruises are $5,400 per person per week. Its run by a huge international conglomerate, so one receives a sanitised experience. I do vacation retreats for $1,500 - $2,500 per person per week at my Lodge near there, and you get a proper experience (we're a family business)

cheapskates pay hundreds of dollars for the trip but too mean and tight-fisted to buy trinkets of the kids who probably rely on the money to eat...
