I thought my dog had a foreign body. Took him to the vet. $600 later they had done anesthetia, an endoscopy, cortisone shot, nasal scope, sinus flush, full ENT and general exam. He is still coughing a week later.. I think he caught Kennell cough. It was very expensive but I guess better safe than sorry

There was no advice on treatment..... update.. honey worked good for my Chihuahua.

@@michaelt.garcia8671 maybe a half a tablespoon, let them lick it off the spoon. Coats their throat and has natural antibiotics. Good for us humans too.

Thank you for the info! I adopted 2 Chihuahuas, mom and son, 5 weeks ago from a local shelter as their owner passed. I think one might have kennel cough. I'll try honey to help him.

This is a very helpful video, thanks for posting it. I really appreciate that you werent playing dumb, infantile background music like they do in the pets4vets video about kennel cough.

I don't know if that's what my dog has because I can't afford the vet right now. But I've been giving him chicken noodle soup and the honey on a spoon and that helps. He doesn't cough sometimes all day. But he hasn't been in any kennels or boarding facilities or dog parks. He will get it sometimes after drinking water, or when sleeping he wakes up and does it. Or if he eats to fast. Or when I walk him around.

My princess passed away 5 days ago. She been fighting with this cough for years. Just like other comments every time she drinks water and at night was the worst. Veterinary doctors never could diagnose what caused that cough. She was alway happy and very playful. In a period of 10 hours she passed away Friday morning at 7:45.

My dog has this, he’s currently at the vet with my dad, this started just a couple of days ago and maybe yesterday until today he hasn’t ate, is that something I need to worry about?

I'd be worried if he stopped eating and doing normal activities. Mine still eats, drinks, sleeps and wants to play but he sleeps alot. But he's a pug mix and almost 8 yrs old.

was just watching another vet video that the bortdella vaccine doesnt help

It doesnt help, my chihuahua had the vaccine 3 months ago along with other updated shots. I adopted another chi from a shelter now both are laying in their beds coughing and hacking.
