from what I undestood a jetty was built north, then a hurricane wrecked the spot.. because of the jetty you dont get sand coming back.. Did you surf puerto too? how did it compare?

@@87gn199 - our best discovery was down south near the Rio Verde river. It was a little pilgrimage called San Elana. A small jetty with a big cross embedded in it. The surfing was on the north side of this structure and a lot like Trestles. We got to Puerto Escondido a few weeks later and couldn't easily find the break. And ended up going up to Acapulco + surfing a spot to the south, on the other side of the bay itself. And then went to Oceanside Ca for a month surfing at Blacks/Trestles/Grandview/Ponto/The Oceanside Pier. It was great. Dale Cormican was our guide, an old high school bud.
