yep, Pete Collins, was always painful to watch when he was in ring, as he always had his ass kicked.

I watched Peter Collins wrestle a few times, and he was susceptible to injuries and mishaps. One time he had to wrestle in two consecutive bouts!

Wonder if Greg Valentine or the Grapple fans were aware of the American Wrestler named Greg Valentine?

+Mike Walters Fans - mostly not (a few fanatical fans who were aware of US wrestling even though it wasn't shown at all on TV maybe, but not most of them). Wrestlers - definitely yes. The wrestlers were well aware of US wrestling, many of them had wrestled in the US, Canada, Japan and elsewhere and worked with these guys. Many British wrestlers had names taken directly from (or inspired by) the pages of Pro Wrestling Illustrated, including Valentine, Steve Regal, Blackjack Mulligan, Skull Murphy, The Spoiler, Gorgeous George, Giant Haystacks, the manager Tony "The Brain" Francis and others. I first saw Greg "The Hammer" Valentine on ITV in 1987 when they started showing the WWF - the beginning of the end.

+Arthur Psycho Do you call that the beginning of the end because it was a year away from wrestling on ITV getting cancelled and/or it also marked the beginning of the end for Joint Promotions?

+Mike Walters A bit of both. Seeing the WWF (and NWA/WCW) on TV, younger fans saw it as more exciting, with the showmanship, huge crowds, entrance music and roided up wrestlers. British promoters saw this and started to present crap imitations of US wrestling shows instead of sticking to what they were good at.
