Pete, i'd really love to see you explaining how you're making these demo songs. Two things especially, your tips on mixing the whole track and secondly, writing the drums. To be honest i watch your videos mainly for the songs, gear comes next :)

so glad they've improved the UI. Sounds were always good with Amplitube, but the UI was a problem. The other issue was of course that you'd choose a preset and more often than not get a window that would pop up and tell you that you didn't have the required piece of gear - infuriating.

I ended up picking up a copy of 5MAX after watching this and a few other vids. This fella knows his stuff and does not come off as super snobby or pushy with his opinions!

I have a AmpliTube 4 and it has most of the features that five has other than the newer licensed cabs and amplifiers. Also, I think you can only do dual chains and not three amp chains like you can with the AmpliTube 5. I love the Fender amps and cabs. I like mixing speakers in cabs as well. Hopefully IK will allow you to download a vanilla version of AmpliTube five if you buy one of their interfaces. That’s how I got started with AmpliTube 4, through purchasing I-Rig HD. Over the years I upgraded a little though their store. Great Demo as always. Cheers Pete.

Sounds fantastic. I just bought Amplitube 5 based on seeing this video. I think the basic progression is D/Fm/CG -- D/Fm/C/Am7. Just need to add the picking pattern. Anybody see it differently?

I still use Amplitube 3 along with 4 and 5, pretty much for everything I do session work wise, my version of shine on you crazy diamond was all done in AT3. you just get used to what works for you I guess, AT4+5 are great though,.

Pete you really make anything sound amazing. Truly inspiring. In my experience, out of all the modeling software, i like the tones of STL Tone's AmpHub the best. After some time getting the gain staging right, it sounds fantastic. I dont like how little options they have at the moment, but for what they have, they did a great job in their modeling. I need to give Amplitube 5 another try though. The way u make Amplitube 5 and Guitar Rig 6 sound inspires me to want to dive head first into those applications.

Hey Pete, I love that live version of seasons that you did with Chris at that studio. I was wondering. I can play Season's on the guitar all the way through, however I can't do it with a pick. You should do a video on how to get good at jumping strings when using a pick. P.s. I'm actually a Drummer first and foremost but love learning the guitar because it's hard for me.

Fantastic Amplitube 5 demo, Pete. I have Amplitube 4 and really struggle with it. I don't seem to be able to get the right blend of amp settings, cab, etc. I know IK Multimedia has made a number of changes to program in Amplitube 5. One of the problems that I encountered with version 4 was that if I really dug in to my picking while tracking with a high gain setting on the virtual amps, I got a weird trace of a bit of clean tone just on my hardest picked notes. So I backed off my pick attacks to try to minimize this. On playback, that odd semi clean/ distorted sound wasn't present in the recording. But since I eased off my pick attack to compensate for that artifact, my guitar performance lost a lot of any dynamic energy... you could tell in the recorded guitar track that I was picking lighter. I was wondering, did you notice that kind of odd mix of a clean picked note combined with the higher gain settings on Amplitube 5?

I tried out Amplitube 5 on my Windows 10 rig and I couldn't get sound from the stand alone app. I'm using a Focusrite 2i2 and I have no issues with it in several other applications. I looked around on the web and noticed this is a common issue with Amplitube 5 regardless of the audio interface. People had posted registry hacks and a bunch of other supposed fixes and I wasn't in the mood to try them. I also didn't even feel like trying the Amplitube 5 vlc in Reaper at that point. Sloppy installer as well, it kept popping up with different windows during installation and it installed files to at least five different folder locations. I wasn't impressed. I re-imaged my machine from a previous backup and all is well, it's off my machine. I'll stick with micing my amp and using Bias FX2 Elite when I need it. It has scaling issues on 4k monitors but it works.

Where do you come up with these tunes? There is an album here!!!

sounded like the quad cortex to me, tube oedal into my neve or api pre into this and just get on with making music i reckon :)

I downloaded the free version. Improvement over version 4. All the purchases and free added amps and series from version 4 ported over to Version 5 automatically. Wow.

Looking at buying AT5 was really hoping to hear that hotrod plexi ripping tone Pete gets (which I’m hoping this product can achieve)... but this demo didn’t go there. 😬 can AT5 get me there? New to plugins. Pete rules man.
