Hi Dominic at the end of the Live manual you have all the MIDI settings and the MIDI map explained. Any MIDI switcher will send program changes and you'll see the Live changing presets, that's not really more complicated than that. ;)

I was pissed, so I waited and waited and finally I found a used TORPEDO C.A.B. for $100. Then for some strange reason the OPTUS is now released w./ midi control.* I don't necessarily want to change cabs live but I do want MIDI CC AND MIDI PC control (per preset) over the power-amp, the eq, dynamics, the reverb and the MAIN VOLUME, so my time based effects in my WDW rig can have fades and trails ( without ) the need to run an audio line from the CAB to the pedal board for a volume pedal...

Though updating the C.A.B. was easy, TWO-NOTES is horrible about being DEFINTIVE about what features/GUI; we will get with our updates (per) device. Like why is it the C.A.B. uses the ver 5.3 update but it will only update to 4.?? and we dont get the preamp?...

@@officialpoa3171 Indeed! Well, OPUS sounds like it might deliver what you need for sure. Please note however that OPUS is much more than a C.A.B. M/M+ as it features a lot of new TSM Preamps - as such, we decided MIDI switching of presets was important for the home-use context of the product. @@officialpoa3171 Can you confirm if you are using C.A.B. or C.A.B. M please? Please note that a C.A.B. cannot be updated for the C.A.B. M specifications simply due to hardware restrictions in the device. The sample applies when looking at C.A.B. M/M+ and OPUS. Although both units share a similar chassis, on the inside it is a very different story. In order to accomodate the higher gain preamps included in OPUS, an extensive overhaul of the existing C.A.B. M+ architecture was required. As such, we cant offer an update for the C.A.B. M+. Please bear in mind, we are committed to supporting our legacy products and will continue to release all necessary updates to ensure longevity of C.A.B. M+ - not to mention on-going DynIR releases so you have a cascade of fresh tones to play with! Let us know if you have any other questions concerning OPUS and we will gladly weigh in!

It's good that your are happy with your Helix, it doesn't change the fact that some guitar and bass players want to keep using the real deal, amps and pedals. There is no better option, just different circonstances, budget, that will lead you to use one or the other, right?

@TwoNotesTV, no need for hostility, or overtly defensive responses based on sales angles, I was merely stating MY opinion after watching the video and relaying my feelings on how pete was playing, which was over a month ago. I myself love tube amps+natural compression as much as the next guy, a great Marshall Plexi or blues breaker sound amazing, but I've also been loving my Helix, and have noticed that the "gap" between the two in terms of Digital vs Analog 'tone' has shrunken considerably, due to it's introduction, along with some other products in the market place (SHARC audio processing chips are kind of ridiculous that way). Digital technology has been getting better and better at delivering that compressed+analog tube sound found in traditional amplifiers, and IMO the Helix is pretty damn close in terms of feel,compression, tone, and overall sound when compared to the 'real deal', and it doesn't hurt that all of the Effects are premium grade recreations of vintage pedals either. As someone who has both Traditional Tube amplifiers+Pedals as well as a Helix, It's not surprising that I wished to have an opinion on the matter, nor should it be surprising that the digital technology has improved by leaps+bounds over the past several years. The "selling points" of either can be argued at length with all sorts of subjective view points+reasonings...but really, objectively, it all boils down to convenience VS. "true" analog Tone and what the trade off actually is for a player, which for a lot of gigging musicians these days, the proverbial "Trade off" for convenience in terms of tone is almost negligible...but hey, again, that's JUST MY OPINION on the matter.

I apologize if you read my answer as somewhat hostile, English is not my native tongue, my message was simply "to each their own". ;) We create digital products, so we absolutely believe that we live in exciting times where finally some high quality digital alternatives are given to guitarists, to save space when travelling and noise when playing on stage or at home. Pete is indeed using a Helix on fly gigs, when he can't afford to bring the whole rig. ;)

TwoNotesTV you were not being rude at all. Some times people are ready to perceive something because of them throwing a statement out. I love the fact I can take a 100 watt Marshall through a 2x12 green back cabinet without blowing expensive speakers. Thank you for your hard work and research
