Last week we had the first visit from the coordinator who will basically manage my wife's home care assistance package here in south east Victoria (Australia). Towards the end of her visit we showed her around the house, including my wife's playroom (sewing, macrame, colouring) and my 13ft x 10ft 00 BR(S) layout in the family room. That was her reaction to a T. She couldn't believe the detail and realism that even my modest efforts had produced - from readily available and RTR sources by the way, and mostly built in the last four years since I retired at the age of 71. I was well pleased. I'm just a train set guy who aspires to create something for the models to run round in which my critical artistic eye considers to be realistic in miniature. Seems I'm not doing it too badly...

It is wonderful to listen to a man who has made his wealth and fortune through his own hard work still able to communicate with the average person. If you did not know who Pete is, then he would just be another guy at the model railway club. Old traditional methods remembered and used, and now passed on to new generations. I am in my 70's and you can take all this wonderful technology and introduce it to a specialist recycler as far as I am concerned. Good soldering, clean rails and wheels running on DC is as good as anything you can get today. Wonderful layout and excellent descriptions for which thanks. Cheers, Bob

The closest thing I have ever seen to 'asbestos fingers.' I now have a burn on my finger on Pete's behalf!!

I've been a wireman for over forty years and I can say nothing beats a good solder joint for permanent conductivity. Great advise from Pete👍

what a wonderful insight from a true legend and ambassador for this hobby, i met pete at milton keynes last year at my first ever train show and making track 2 was outstanding, himself and the crew operating the layout were absolutely brillant, this looks to be taking things to another level, truly amazing and inspirational👍

Pete is amazing. Hes totally the opposite to all the spoiled, celebs, who are incapable of doing anything for themselves, we have nowadays.

So looking forward to seeing Making Track's III at Chester. This time with a mainline station is going to be wicked. If you want a good look it is best seen at the Cathedral, at GETS it's hard to get a look in with a 3 to 4 deep crowd. But, with this year's Train Show having all 3 of the Making Tracks layouts connected together its going to be really special!

It was a joy to listen to you both talking about the hobby and the changes old and where its advancing. Looking forward to Chester and Making tracks 3. Making plans to get to MK and will see it all together. Listening to Pete about the length overall will we be needing to dig out the opera glasses..... Keep up the good work.

A truly great series and I would like to know what you use for the grass embankments as it doesn't look like static grass but looks much better and more realistic?
