I lost over 65lbs in ‘22 just by walking/running and eating clean. I didn’t deprive myself, but did a sugar/carb detox for about a month. I am now very in tune with my body and I know what works and what doesn’t. When you detox and eat clean, your body naturally craves the hood stuff and if I eat junk, I immediately feel sick.

I have metabolic damage from decades long eating disorder. I’m healed from that now but 200 pounds AND eating clean and always excerising. Ozempic helped me loose weight and look like my efforts of eating clean. No one knows more about clean eating than someone with a history with eating disorder. Obesity isn’t only a lazy overconsumption stereotype. It’s metabolic damage, it’s insulin resistance, it’s PCOS.

Not for everyone. Until you've dealt with not being able to lose fat no matter what you do, you will not understand. I was fit and lean my whole life. Easy to lose after my first child. After my second child everything changed. But that wasn't the cause. I have a medical condition that doctors can't diagnose other than saying possible autoimmune. I cannot lose fat doing what I use to do or even what everyone else does. I counted calories AND macros in a 250-400 calorie deficit for months with no loss. I was also walking 3.2 miles and lifting weights 5 days a week. Nothing. I even tried this on keto. Nothing.

The problem with all these clueless nobodies on panels/podcasts trying to talk about it is that the majority of them have never been obese. When you're a heavy person and you've tried and battled your whole life with 100's of diets you get to the point where a little risk for taking a pill to help you outweighs just continuing to be 3 or 400 pounds because you're going to die eventually because of your obesity anyway. No one gives a shit about losing muscle or fat when you're 400 lbs, any weight loss is beneficial and improves their health with some light risks compared to staying at an obese weight.

Love Dr. Attia! I found what really helps is accepting you can't eat the poison that is called the typical western diet and go mostly high-quality plant-based whole food with some baked chicken and salmon mixed in. 31 lbs and counting. What also really helps is not letting eating something crappy yesterday justify eating something crappy today and accepting that you will fall off the wagon several times a week. You fail because of your rules, not your exceptions.

@@gregabrams5792 yeah I’m in it. After decades long eating disorder I have metabolic damage. I’m finally healed from my Ed and left with metabolic damage and 200 lbs. no one knows clean eating and exercise more than someone who had an ED. The sad reality is there is no compassion for an obese person bc we get categorized as lazy and over consuming. 4 months on ozempic and down 25 pounds. All my muscle from years of working out is finally showing and my healthy eating is matching myphysical body . Ur comment about knowing ppl who were on it and then not on it and gained it all back seemed like rooting for obese ppl to go back to obesity and rooting for them to fail. The hate that ozempic gets is no different than anti depressants when they first came out. Imagine if ppl with cancer got the same negative comments that ozempic users get. Obesity is a disease that gets no compassion and I hope one day we look back at the hate that ozempic gets and as a society we are more educated on how ignorant and hurtful it is.

Ozemic is used in medicine for more than weight loss. It was only FDA approved a few year ago for weight loss in obese patients. It’s used in endocrine and cardiology. That being said, I used it for weight loss while seeing a registered dietitian and medical provider and lost weight when I hit a plateau in my weight loss journey. I stopped because I got pregnant. ( I also noticed hair shedding but I am not certain it was due to the injection). I had to still diet and exercise to see any significant results of the medication.

There is obviously a main stream media initiative to get people away, I think to keep us fat. Too many industries will suffer if all the sudden all the fat people become fit and stop eating the garbage and stop taking countless meds

mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 simply trigger you body to produce a harmless protein that is part of the virus itself. That way your immune system learns to recognize this protein and produce antibodies to fight it. That way, when the actual virus invades your body, you body recognizes the protein and has the tools (antibodies) to destroy it. mRNA vaccines has been studied for decades. They aren’t new. They are safe. COVID-19 is highly contagious. Everyone was going to be exposed eventually. Much better to be exposed to the harmless protein first than get the full blown virus.

I love ya Pete but your wrong on this one. Any calorie defecit diet you will lose muscle. Even bodybuilders, on juice eating insane protein lose mass. The studies showed opposite of what you say. Maybe your prescribing to people you shouldn't! Someone wanting to lose 10-30 lbs shouldnt be on it unless type 2. As a Dr its part your responsibility to inform and push proper protein and water intake, excercise and weight training. With or without the drug people that dont do those things on a calorie restricted diet, will lose muscle. Giving it to a house wife sitting on her ass all day so she can fit in a wedding dress is not right. For many people its a life or death thing. But if they dont change their lifestyle it doesnt matter. But i do know for many,, the drug has helped them to get into the gym, and push them to make those changes!

So, wait …. Let me get this straight … I’m supposed to listen to a Dr who has no issue putting his patients on a drug he has no idea of it’s long term effects AND he knows it doesn’t actually work to accomplish what he ostensibly says is his goal which is helping people who are very obese. He won’t put them on it for longer than a year because he has no idea what it will do to them AND he knows they will likely lose way more lean mass than is good for them ( putting them at further risk for more metabolic disease) AND he knows that when he takes them off of it they are going to gain all the fat back (but none of the lean mass) plus more??? And we are listening to a damn thing he says because why exactly? Geeeezuz. Stay away from this guy. Every time I see him making the podcast rounds he’s full of new info that sounds like crap and usually turns out, after a few years, to be just that: crap. What has he ever told us that we haven’t known for our entire time on this earth? Eat real food. Move your body a lot. Have a family. Make strong connections. I mean …. The human body is the most complex system we know of. But we think we’ve cracked it because some dudes in lab coats studied a thing in mice for a while and came back with some numbers 🙄
