Thank you for this...I am in 60's now but saw them live in my late teens, twenties...my hero's..so so deep, Give it Back berating everything we did to the Native Tribes of the U.S. (Indians which they hate)...Dead Cat Soap, Porgy Tirebiter (a real dog), Young Guy Motor Detective, Sgt. Sphincter, Reebus Caneebus, McGog Bros. Atlanis Carpet Reclaimers...I am crying, I try to play any of this to my 'millennial" kids they are so uninterested because they would have to THINK!!! USE THEIR MINDS!!! We really were blessed by the greatest music ever, and the greatest comedy/satire/surrealism the world has ever seen, never to be repeated. Maybe that's what getting older really is all about. Watching your hero's leave. In the next world I hope we are not on our own...maybe we'll all meet again, at Three Fingered Mickey's. Love to all my Firesign brothers and sisters.

Commander Baldy has taken up permanent residence in Billville. Firesign Theatre is the greatest comedy troupe i will ever know.

Pete, It would be safe to say that you and Firesign Theatre collectively rasied my comedic consciousness.And i'm a better person for it. Thanks man, R.I.P.

A loving and well-appreciated tribute to one of the 4 or 5 crazy guys, Peter Bergman. I still miss his voice and his contributions that highlight this lunacy we call life. The fact that the tune is by another beloved crazy guy, Phil Austin only makes this more bitter-sweet beet.

Beautiful collage, very touching! I am planning a Bergman/TFT tribute for Hour of Slack this weekend, and this song (which I'd never heard) will come in handy. As I've been saying since yesterday everywhere I post, speaking for the old-timey SubGeniuses, we probably owe The Firesign Theatre more than we do RAWilson, the ZAP comix artists, Ray Harryhausen or the Mothers of Invention. Maybe even as much as the old Warner Brothers animation studio, and that's saying something. PRAISE "PETER."

In our mid teens in the mid 70s my friend and i could do several complete albums,especially is we were on a trip.

even if you dont understand them, they were allways interesting to listen to. All 4 members made cameo appearences on a very famous tv show. Guess what one?

God, there just isn't, nor has there ever been, anything like Firesign Theatre. I am so sorry we no longer have amazing Peter in our midst. Now, *he* can come in out of the cornstarch and dry his mukluks by the fire. Rest in peace.

I too just heard about Peter passing away...I hope he's hanging around with Shakespeare and Mark Twain having some laughs. I met him in '76 while working for KPFT/Houston and he was a real genious!

Well, as the four or five crazee guys taught us, "everything we know is wrong." The news today (oh, damn!) is certainly wrong, but sadly, it's also true. Looks like we'll have to make do with just three or four crazee guys. I think I'll run good old High School Madness in my theater-for-one this evening and be amazed once again by the very Mudheadedness of it all. I've got a case of Bear Whiz Beer and every one I pop will be raised to the memory of Mr. Bergman. Goodnight, Clown Prince!

Holy shit!! I never heard anything about him dying!! :-( Sorry to hear about this!! I have almost all their records (I might be missing a few Proctor & Bergman's), but I even have a very old break-in record that Peter did in the early `60's!! Four Candidates / Attention Convention. In fact, I just found out moments ago it WAS Peter on the record! I've always thought it sounded like him, but never knew it WAS him!! Thanks LOADS for all the laughs, Ped!!!! (And the same to the rest of the group.)
