I met Denzil at Yale summer school in mid 80s. He was the best teacher I ever had. He loved Blinky Palermo’s work. I spent a day at his house and studio back then , Denzil is/was a great artist and human

Great coverage as always James, but this particular painting is completely sterile, lacking expression and imagination to a frightening degree. At a time when algorithims are are emulating the human painting hand, we seem to be painting in an increased mechanical, robotic way ! Long live painterly expression and imagination.. becuse this work is safely void of it, unfortunately.
