Peter Levine is an avatar of healing and transformation. His books awakened my brain & his presence & teachings changed my life & inspired me to become an SEP. Tomorrow I finish my faculty hours with a double session with the Man himself. I couldn't have a better ending to this amazing journey. Eternal gratitude from the millions Dr. Levine has helped. God bless you for your legacy of love, wisdom and grace to humanity Dr. Lavine.

Alles Liebe! 💚🙏

My familiar belly pain bothered me, when I started watching. I did all the movements and the sound, as if I was the client - and at the very end of the first session the pain was released. For years now I have been learning so much from you through your books, it gave me so much reassurance, because I experience precisely what you talk about and teach. Understanding what is going on inside gives me great confidence and a healthy pride for all the work I have done in becoming free from the many Traumas of my childhood. Your posts are such a great gift to me, thank you so much, Peter! 🙏♥🙏

I’m a somatic practitioner who can’t , at this juncture, find a therapist or afford one. Neither can I afford the SE training . I hope that changes. In the meantime, it’s so important to make this wisdom available to everyone. Thank you so much for doing just that !

100%. I am a manual therapist and trauma recovery coach, have taken all the trainings I can afford, and have a lot of my own experience with clients and myself, but can't afford SE right now. Good news is that we can learn a LOT from free trainings like this, from books, especially from self practice and working with clients. I couldn't agree with you more, this work needs to be made available to way more people, not just training the wealthy to treat the wealthy. Thanks so much to the institute for sharing this video!

@@debsnelson7 I'm taking a 6 month training on nutrition and trauma healing right now with Luis Mojica from "Holistic Life Naviigation", on youtube, instagram. His trainings are very affordable and he trained in SE. Once we learn it and experience it we can teach others and don't have to charge a fortune. Certification is overrated. People need help NOW. Everyone is qualified to help someone else once they learn, practice and experience for themselves. I love Luis's approach to all of this. I find it more accessible than even the most well known in the field.

Sometimes we can reprioritize our funds to make therapy a priority. I did for yrs despite poverty- found free women’s counseling in BC, and paid for it once a month or two which really helps once you’ve found that person you resonate with so you can trust! ❤

A big thank-you to all the participants, especially the courage of the people lending their nervous systems for the growth of us all and collective healing of trauma. It is wonderful to have access to these, as an antidote to the rise of the more top down approaches. SE continues to support my own growth, and I appreciate the delicate and nuanced work that is shared here.

I've only watched a few minutes so far of Allison's session and want to share something I immediately noticed and it just made me feel happy. First of all I myself have had a lot of trauma therapy and before that years of talk therapy with a lovely woman but didn't quite know how to guide the conversation to anything like the awakenings I've experienced in EMDR with my current therapist. I also have ADHD, come across weird to people, and live a lot of my life in freeze response and fear. It's getting better though:). Anyway... One thing I do that makes people a little weirded out by me is that when I speak with someone who doesn't make the reassuring facial expressions like you do here and, also like you do here, doesn't sprinkle in kind, engaging words like "holy sh!t" or "oh honey I hate that for you." or "Wow that's incredible" or a head nod with "uh hu" or "oh my, I can picture that little girl alone" while, like you said, allowing yourself to be touched without overwhelming the client... when the listener doesn't do these things I think they want me to hurry up and stop talking, so what do I do? I talk very fast and "Spit it Out" as my mom always told me to do. I've been accused of being on drugs and/or bipolar even by a mental health provider because of the way I speak when I feel I'm not being heard or rather I'm not wanted to be heard. I'm a bother. I'm in the way. I need to get on with it because surely this other person has so many other things to do and more interesting people to talk to. All that to say- Good job Dr Levine. Your presence is solid. No matter who is sitting across from you they will indeed know as a fact that there is opportunity for human-connection and that their words are worth listening to, can have an affect on others, and that they can be understood by at least one person. I love your style! I'm almost 45. So many years wasted but there is hope and I know you are giving people like me opportunities to finally find contentment, awe, joy, and peace. bravo

Aliveness vs arousal they are not the same thing. Arousal doesn’t heal and can bring about dissociation. With aliveness, the connection, like what happens with shared breathing, can bring couples to a deep level of arousal which comes from a letting go.

Also ich konnte mein Trauma nich lösen. Ich habe innerlich aufgegeben. Diese Traumatherapie war meine letze Hoffnung. Ich wollte dir schon lange schreiben und bin froh, dass ich dies jetzt endlich loswerden kann. Kerstin

He did the best he could but, thankfully, gave up & brought the session to a close. I would like to see her conduct the session! No disrespect to PL. Thanks for sharing this. 🙏🏽

There are also therapists who cause anxiety fear and trauma and it has negative influence on your life and wellbeing and nervous system and you can experience nausea and feeling seasick brainfog memoryloss gloomy dizzyness and heartpalptations trembling hands and negative thinkingpatterns and in the things you are doing. They became a therapist to save probably a brothel and have b cluster characteristics and are very rough and wild. They want to make you feel bad to feel good and so you feel bad. When the therapist brought you in a tunnelvision they are always want to be right and the client is always wrong and don"t listen and life feels dull and seeking not further for a selution.

Can these series be watched without the german dubbing? It's incredibly distracting and disturbing to my add-brain.

Was Levine psychic or did he know all of their histories?

I wonder what the parents and grandparents were doing in 1942. The Jewish people are still trying to heal from the Nazi atrocities. I’m trying to heal .

As a queer somatic therapist, I'm finding it incredibly problematic to see homosexuality presented as having a root cause in the possible need to connect with the father. This pathologises homosexuality. Why doesn't Dr. Peter offer up hypothesis for heterosexuality as a pathology? Clumsy at best, homophobic at worst.

Because heterosexuality is the "default". As an example, People are born mostly with 2 legs, it's the "default". Some are born with only one. That doesn't make them less worthy, but you have to investigate what made them deviate from the default.

@@SimplesMenteSaude-gc1bp i sincerely hope you're not a therapist because your comment is ethically problematic. as for peter levine, he's a therapist and language matters and assumptions about a presumed 'default' should not exist. should we assume all our clients are married and have children too? your comments are non sensical and rubbing on vitriolic.

@@olive_tree_therapies I sincerely hope you're not a therapist because your comment is ethically problematic. Since you don't have a vision of what it is we see as default behavior or as species patterns (as we would in the whole animal kingdom) how can you then say anything should be investigated or managed? your comments are non sensical and rubbing on vitriolic. And plus, I can see you waving your flag of "fake compassion" and moral superiority. You cannot even handle others perspectives, how could you help someone like that?

@@olive_tree_therapies Apparently you are only inclusive to opinions who ressonate with your own thinking, which you judge fundamentally superior and righteous. So dangerous.

@@SimplesMenteSaude-gc1bp you should have no judgements about your clients. whether or not you disagree with your clients is completely irrelevant. or are you the kind of therapist who likes to tell their clients how they should live their lives and that they are wrong about how they live their lives? if you are bringing culture wars into the therapy room then shame on you!
