It has been four years since I had painted Peter's backdrop. At that point the benchwork and track were in. Since then he has had an awesome time doing the scenery and putting the structures in. Still a work in progress he is now running regular operations sessions. I had a chance to visit and video this amazing layout. The only one of it's kind in the Ottawa area.

Beautiful scenery, that realistic background painting style looks familiar. I think I have seen the same artist’s work in other videos…

It is in the eye of the beholder. Maybe the logging ops.

Question and a comment: is the track handlaid or commercial? I ask because there is a good bit that looks handlaid and a good bit that looks commercial. The comment is I love the way the upper fascia is painted to blend in with the backdrop graphics - never seen that before. One last question: does the magazine 'Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette' still exist?

Yes indeed the track is hand laid. Bill scobie and I came up with the idea to paint the fascia with the same acrylic techniques as the foliage on the back drop. Peter saw it and asked that I do the same on his. All done with artist acrylics. The mag still exists here is the link ngslgazette.com/

@@CNLVN thanks for the reply and link to the magazine. I lost touch with it a few years back. Now I'm in a place in my life where I can get back to narrow gauge from just doing standard gauge. All handlaid - wow!
