Drip. Drip. Drip. Droplets of blood gently rained onto the snow beneath her feet as she slowly loosened her grip. She slowly lowered herself, with the support of the sheath of her blade and slowly settled into a seated position, resting upon her own heels. She took a deep breath, then exhaled. A puddle of blood stained the snowy grass around her, small streams slowly ploughing its way out further out. Her sword now laid before her, its body caked with dark red spots of dried blood that stuck before it could slip off. Bodies circled her, small groups of red explosions laid crumpled on the snow-capped mountain top. Weapons at various states of wear were tossed about, slowly freezing alongside the corpses of their former masters. Silence slowly gripped the scene. Memories of the past flashed before the eyes of the swordswoman. She slowly closed her eyes as her breathing grew thin. It's time. She saw this coming. Her fate has been decided since the moment she wrapped her fingers around the hilt of that sword. She has came far, each step followed by the thud of another dead man falling to their grave. She has sinned - too many lived taken away by a single swipe of her blade. They called her The Empress, a name where a gentle whisper was enough to make the knees of even the greatest warriors tremble. Yet there she sat, atop a lone cliff. Her face grew pale as blood dribbled out of her wounds. Her chin lowered. Her eyes closed. Her shoulders slowly stopped the rhythmic rise and fall. The gentle snow fell, like soft feathers of a heavenly geese. A thin, white blanket softly rolled over the rocks, the bodies, the sword and finally, The Empress.
