Pretty weird how much the guys focus is off of Triple H when he is talking. I might not like the guy but if he is giving you an interview, you should give him your undivided attention.

At 1 time, I couldn't stand The Game - Evolution days but then they brought back DX, & it took a whole new twist, even after the "new" DX days I saw Triple H the athlete, entertainer, & a guy w/ some serious skills. So, I had to change my views on Triple H. While they were doing DX I dug into more about who HBK & Triple H truly are & found things like this - a classic, stand up guy, we just hafta remember - it's a T.V. show.

I'm not much a fan of Bret Hart. But I do respect his Wrestling Skills. However I like His brother Owen Hart much better. He doesn't take his self so seriously and he is an amazing wrestler. I love the fact HHH speaks so highly about Owen. He will be miss.

Yeah i would say Bret is like a top 5 in ring worker ever, but the only time i liked his character/personality was in 1997 when he did all that Canada vs USA stuff. That was really good, but outside of that im not sure what Bret really did have. Great in ring skills for sure, but other than that im not too sure? 🤔but yeah Owen had a really likeable personality even though he was a heel. Loved his run in 1994.

WOW, I never anything throughout my 20+ years of watching wrestling that Bret and Owen Hart had issues business wise but Triple H did talk very candidly about the situation.
@SuperKilla78611 жыл бұрын
Michaels forfeited 2 titles but it was a big deal when Hart want to do it once. Bret wasn't against losing the title just the stipulations of losing it. Hart said no to losing in Canada to Michaels. But Vince perceived that Bret was not willing to have it any other way. Later Bret said that if Vince asked him to come to raw the next day he would of been willing to drop it to Austin or Taker.

HHH and others miss this part of the story out to make Bret look bad. If Michaels wasn't such a fucking prick then the whole thing could have been avoided. I do think Bret deserves criticism for not just dropping the belt without fuss and proving he was the better man but he was dealing with a guy who had to be 'persuaded' to drop the belt to Steve Austin at Wrestlemania several months later.

Hogan refused to put Bret Over, Michaels refused to put Bret over. Yet, Bret receives all the criticism.
@cmambro58 жыл бұрын
Bret only refused to put Michaels over because Michaels refused to put Bret over many times (e.g. Michaels lost his smile so he vacated the belt to go find his smile and so Bret won the belt in a tournament). Hogan and Shawn Michaels (old shawn Michaels) are the biggest back stage politicians.. You have to be careful on some wrester's commenting on the Montreal ScrewJob. Most of them made comments while they were being paid by the WWE (VInce McMahon).

I do agree about Bret as far as the fact that he should have done what was "Right for the business" not what was right for the "Legacy of Bret Hart in WWE" especially since he was LEAVING WWE(if he was retiring for good then maybe it would have been a different story). How could anyone expect Vince allow him to show up on NITRO as the "Unbeaten WWE CHAMPION"
@hank721615 жыл бұрын
I know the backstory lol I just side with the WWF. All Bret had to do was drop the belt to Shawn in Montreal. He let his personal feeling's about Shawn cloud his judgement. He was going to be a hot act when he got to WCW either way.

I have to agree with HHH. Back then WWE/F was in a hole and yes the women's champ thing DID happen. Bret was not under contract to show the next night, so who says he DOES show up? You can't make assumptions like that during a period of crisis for your business.
@diedahero14 жыл бұрын
Dude Bret wouldnt J.O.B. someone he didnt like and Hunter said, "You know whatf him. Its just that simple." It's the soul of the industry to put people over and he wouldn't because he didn't like who they picked to replace him. So for all you OMG Brett was the greatest folks just remember that. Your greatest wouldn't put over a guy who was his better in every way and he knew it.

Bret wasn't going to jump. Vince TOLD Bret to go to WCW. Vince asked Bret to END the contract EARLY. It's not like Brets contract was up he told vince no i'm going to WCW. Vince said I can't afford to keep you, I'm losing millions each month, please end our contract. Vince did it because he was paranoid. Bret respected Vince and the business to much to do what Madusa did.
@6steveo914 жыл бұрын
No Bret - he was champ four times a year as per the clause in his contract "Bret was too pushy" Frankly, i wouldnt make any statement about any situation i didnt have first hand knowledge of or irrefutable evidence of. One thing ive heard a lot, specially from old timers, is the most important thing for a top guy to do is protect his character. i dont sway one way or another - but i do hate it when someone shows no appreciation for people who contribute on the scale Bret did

Triple H talking utter rubbish again, shame on you Rosenberg for not firing back with "but Shawn refused to put Bret over, so Bret was only doing the same back" WHY on earth that question never left your mouth is beyond me.

The conversation between Bret and Shawn where Bret said- " I have heard we have been booked for the upcoming Wrestle mania. I just wanted u to know I am willing to put you over if that's need what needs to be done. Shawn replied something like- " That's great. But If were u, I won't do the same thing." I'm guessing the conversation they had had was about wrestlemania 14 (to happen in '98). Bret had learned in advance that Shawn and him were booked for the next year.

Not at all. I used to worship the man as my favorite wrestler, and I was willing to put up with his arrogance for a while. That changed when my favorite, the Devils, lost a controversial game 6 to the Kings in the Stanley Cup final and Bret said on his Facebook, "I called it. Kings in 6." Now that may not seem so bad, but I see it as a slight against a team I love. Needless to say, I tossed his book and smeared dog crap over the cover. Overreaction? Maybe, but it felt damn good
@TheJDfairy12 жыл бұрын
Trips was so right and honest. Bret Hart has always been a total whiner: "I don't wanna lose in Canada, it's my home country and Shawn Michaels is bullying me..." cry me a river... By that logic Triple H can say to any Canadian guy: "I won't drop the belt in USA, this is my home country..."
