On June 16th, 2024, I drove up to Edon, Ohio, to chase Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 #765 on the Tri-State Steam Excursion. While the Berkshire is plenty impressive, freshly-restored NKP SD9 number 358 was the big draw for me. I'm a sucker for vintage EMDs! The excursion, as its name suggests, passed through Indiana and Michigan before returning to Ohio, and the long chase was capped off with an Indiana Northeastern grain extra. It's a long one, but a good one!
