@@patricialegge2482 That is a stereotype perpetrated by people that never walked the streets of America. It's extremely rare in most big cities in the U.S. to ever see a gun. People don't just walk around shooting at other people, millions of people walk around the streets of New York City every day and never experience gunfire. You are very safe in America! Watch Peters videos you won't see hostile people in his videos of America. It's calm and peaceful and the people are friendly and helpful!

@@lilme7052An armed society is a polite society. If you think criminals (you know, the type of people who WOULD shoot someone) cannot and do not have guns in your country or any other you are being ignorant. America has awful shootings not because people have guns, it’s because people are mentally ill. Now, should we take away the right for LAW ABIDING citizens to carry guns, when they are the ones who will be around if something happens (as cops try to get there on time). Regular citizens save the day all the time here. With… guns. Regular citizens protect their homes/property and FAMILIES with… guns. But MSM won’t tell those stories obviously.

This is the type of CITY where close peaceful energy springs there is no HUMAN who would not choose it as a rarely perfect place to live. Here the ambience creates a wonderful real dream of the truth of emotional urban living. For the first time I see America from another new window. Thank you for the wonderful video.Greetings from Macedonia ~

Peter! When the last video (episode 3) ended, I was kind of bummed because I thought aw man, he didn't include a shot of Sutro Baths / Lands Ending (the northern end of Ocean Beach), which is my favorite place in SF. Then I saw that there was an episode 4 and I'm so stoked to see you're starting the video there!

This is my city (pretty much know every square foot of it). _The place I fell in love with decades ago and moved to._ But the 'contrasts' that you showed ignores the many bad areas _(which have become gigantic homeless encampments)._ And local government veers between incompetent and crazy _(on the rare occasions when it's not both)._ To the point where I am actually thinking of leaving the *only* city I have ever loved :((((
@PeterSantenello
@PeterSantenello 4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I failed to bring out much of the contrasts here. I had an overambitious goal of showing that in one video. Next Tuesday I'll post the second part where we go through the Tenderloin. Yeah, the way its run has gotten quite messed. It's almost like taxpayers are the new criminals. Move to the Inner Richmond, don't leave!

Interesting video, beautiful nature. I recognize that feeling of discovery you get when you've left a familiar place for a different experience and come back to it. You have that tourist's perspective of discovering things for the first time and everything is amplified. This fades as you get used to it again.

In Germany there is also a property tax. It depends on the region where you live and also on the age of the building (when it was built). Where i live (western Germany) and the age of the house it is rougly 2,5%p.a. of the property value. Great vids, Peter and Nana.

Thanks, Peter for your great series on KZfaq. I'm of Armenian, Ukrainian and Corsican descent born in Azerbaijan. My mom was from Odesa Ukraine and my dad from Krasnodar Russia. I grew up travelling and living in many different European countries and finally settled in Southern California in 1981. Part of my family came to America in the 1920s and they mostly settled in New York and Chicago. I've travelled through most of our beautiful land in the 1980s and 1990s and have hundreds of VHS and Hi8 videotapes from those trips. It's nice to see a very enthusiastic individual such as yourself providing us with great content on KZfaq. Keep up the great work. Tutto bene, tutta giusta. Отличный материал.

There are still many houses in CA that are under Prop 13. That passed in '78. So if the people have owned it since then or if it has stayed in the family, they have INSANELY low property tax compared to the extremely HIGH value of their home. That's why pre-'78 CA had some of the best schools in the nation. After that they noise dived because of the extreme tax loss.

I have been watching your series for a while now. The scams, world adventures, etc. I am loving this tour of NorCal, I am Australian, but lived in SF for 16 years. I now live back in Australia, it’s amazing that I know exactly where you used to lived on 9th, we may have at one point been neighbors. Literally next door. But I did not live there long, moved over to the other side of the park. What a small big beautiful world. I hope you purchased some seas candies for your lady, idk I heard that they went bankrupt, I moved back to Australia 8 years ago. In sea cliff you walked past Sharon Stone’s home and Robin Williams old home. I love NorCal, it will, to me, always be my home, yes Australia is beautiful, Asia, Europe, but SF/Northern California offers so much diversity in pretty much anything you can think of in a small location. thank-you so much for the memories- btw - I didn’t like your other video on why you now dislike SF, that said all of my friends agree with you, every single friend still in SF agrees with you, it is not the same, maybe I should not return and keep my memories. for me it was a wonderful place and time. Thank-you for bringing me back some wonderful places and times

I go to SF State and they dude talking to you guys on the bench in Golden Gate Park mentioned my HipHop Class professor Davey D! I’m currently taking his class and I can say that providing a sound system along with lobbying to have the roads in the park closed on Sunday’s is definitely something he would do. Crazy to hear that mentioned in the video lol

Property tax in Cali is based on the *the value of the last time it changed hands* bc decades ago as prices went up old folks were getting taxed out of their own homes. (there was something of a tax revolt and "proposition 13" was passed to that end in early 1980's I believe) THEREFORE two identical value homes can have dramatically different tax rates.

Your content is absolutely fantastic! I've gotta say your wife seems very reserved, she also has a posture i have noticed with alot of Europeans. They walk with their shoulders back and like I said seem very reserved. Maybe I am wrong, just my interpretation.
