There are a lot of local guys that are doing junk removal and renting dump trailers as dumpsters. I offer this service as well.

This isn't always the case. Dump fees in my area are $63 per ton, plus fuel, plus my time, plus equipment, plus insurance, plus help. It can be the best option depending on the situation but not always.

Wow, these comments are brutal. I think you should have tipped them for doing a great job. For those of you critical about the workers taking the metal to a scrap yard, it's now their time and effort that will be rewarded. I rented a 40 yd roll off container to tear down chicken coops on one occasion and that cost me $650. I was not allowed to put cement, stone, tires, recyclables, paint, oil or metal in that container. Recently I rented a 20 yard container to tear down a barn which cost me $408 so far. I am hoping someone will pick up the scrap metal for free. If l had a truck, l would take it myself. Do you expect the person that loads his truck up with metal to pay me? Loading a roll off container the right way, none of the materials described in it and even with the top is an art. Most people just start throwing $h^t in without a plan. For a smaller project l would definitely pay two young uns a $125 to take a couple trips to our " convenience center" 3 miles away.

Dumpster Divers need more, not less! But tipping labor $10 or $20 to buy a coke (or beverage of choice) is appreciated and goodwill will get you a better job and priority if you need them again. At least offer them a beverage after hours of work, restroom, etc. Cheers

this is ok for small things you may be getting rid off. It is a pain to put out an ad on Craigslist and read through hundreds of messages. Try listing things for free before you pay someone. I have had people taking away kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanity and even tiles and flooring.

But most people would rather have someone else do it. Imagine how much time is involved in renting a truck, packing it, taking it to the dump, and returning it. Just think people would rather have someone cut their grass then to do it themselves so you know they're not going to rent a truck

There are some very good points in this video, although not necessarily the ones you were trying to make. prices vary greatly by area but using your explanation, it sounded like your debris would have fit in the Baggster had it been broken up and not bulky. Working off that assumption, you paid $120 to dispose of 3 yd.³ of trash. Which would be $720 for a 20 yard rolloff. It seems this video would have been much more accurate and shorter had you simply said based on how much you have to do dispose of, a rolloff is a far better way to go in bulk. Maximum weight in a baggster is 1.65 ton (which you are not going to get even close to unless you are loading it with dirt, rocks, brick, concrete…) in my area that disposal cost would be $80 for 1.65 ton. Realistically any remodel like you described would commonly be less than a half a ton ($25-ish) Your depiction of a baggster being an overpriced waste is pretty accurate, but I am saddened to see your attempt to paint the rolloff as the same exaggerated expense. your argument is extremely clear that unless you’re doing a microscopic renovation, the rolloff is far more cost effective way to go but for some reason you chose not to frame it that way. as for them cleaning up, I assume they only cleaned up the area where you left the debris sitting for them to pickup?.Had you used the rolloff, there would be no debris sitting there in the first place so that point is a wash. I’d also be quite curious as to the air insurance should be damaged a vehicle in your driveway, or anything else on your property had it been undeniably their fault? Seems like you believe you got a good deal based on what you had to dispose of and in that regard I’m happy for you. But I find it disappointing that you would try to misrepresent the realities here for Clickbait.

Don't offer anything. You give an inch they take a mile. People who are about they business know when to work and when to break. Good tip. The dumpsters will be feet not yards. 40 yards is almost half of a football field.

So they charged you to take your stuff and then resold it or took it to a donation place for a write off..that’s your genius idea 🤣 🤦‍♂️ and then you wanted to tip them. Instead of supporting local small business which is usually what dumpster companies are because it saves you a few bucks
