I can add the word "REVIEALED" to the list of words I wish KZfaqrs would quite using. Using the words Lost, Secret, Hidden, Reveled is getting old. Just make a normal title. I love NatGeo but PLS, stop with the sensationalist titles. Love you guys tho.

When I was an undergrad in the 1980s, my archaeology professor had a research project there in 1989 and I got to go. We had high quality Hasselblad cameras and took something around 25 thousand photographs of a couple of the mausoleums that were then slowly stitched together in the Photoshop version of the day. Now, a single person with a laser scanner could do the job we did for three months in about two days, working slowly.

This was AMAZING! Petra is on my bucket list, but now I also want to see where their water systems and gardens were. WOW. It must have been incredible, before the earthquake. How heartbreaking for them.

This is unbelievably beautiful and fascinating land. I wish that the people of this part of the world would stop fighting over who owns the "magic rocks" and allow their neighbours to live in peace. It would become a massive tourist destination, if visitors could feel secure and welcomed. Egypt is discovering the prosperity that comes with this.

I arrived at Aqaba Jordan from Neweiba Egypt via ferry Oct September 30, 2021. Everyone had to take a COVID test in the ferry despite we all took a COVID test in Neweiba Egypt before departure. I accidentally took a ferry with 98% economic migrants 😅 but I got help from a young Egyptian with my luggage. There were about only 8 female passengers, I was the only American 😅. Once landed in Aqaba, the ferry crew treated me like a VIP 😅 maybe because of the long COVID lockdown, and to see actual tourist? Their English is very British 😊 after some research, only to learn that Jordanian king was educated in UK and the queen is Palestinians. The previous queen Noor is half American

Back in Architecture University, we would study different Architectural History in the world. I just hope we had this documentaries at that time (2010) It is really helpful. Whoever invented the Ladar technology is such a genius. Also Albert Lin's narration, personally I think it will catch student's attention if ever you use this for educational

I spent a New Year's eve in Wadi Rum. An incredible place. I love Bedouins and their fashion. It's incredible for the Nabateans to do all this in this location but there are ancient rock cut cities and temples in many countries. I love ancient ruins but civilizations repeat the same style design in many places. Like after you've seen a few ancient Egyptian or Greco-Roman or Angkor Wat -style ruins they all start to look the same because civilizations just repeat everything everywhere during their existence. I find the ancient Egyptian heretic pharaoh Akhenaten interesting because he was the only one to suddenly change the religion and style of art and decoration and beliefs that had been in existence for a few thousand years in Egypt. Jordan is an incredible country. I loved also Machaerus a bit outside Madaba in Jordan which was a desert mountain surrounded by multitudes of other desert mountains not far from the Dead Sea and was where John the Baptist was supposedly held prisoner for two years in a dungeon at the base of the mountain. When you climb to the top of the mountain you can look down to the dungeon inside the hollowed-out mountain. Apparently Salome did the famous Biblical dance with the head of John the Baptist on top of this mountain where his dungeon was. There is just a bit of rubble on top of the mountain and a few columns but it's so haunting and untouristy and you can really imagine it. So much amazing history in Jordan.

Petra was Greek built in style of the mighty Egypt with improvisation. The Nabatians didn't built it, the Greeks showed off their worth.

do you have any evidence to back up your claim?you are wrong.. these people were either Nabataeans or thamudic people, and they were Arabs..Thamud were mentioned in the Holy quran in surah al fajer verse 9..the verse referring to thamud as the builders of the city in the time of prophet saleh.. the inscriptions that was written in the monuments were either Nabataeans or thamudic never was greek .

@@ZezoSaaWtf Petra, the city of the Nabataeans? The Jordanians are neither Arabs nor Romans. Rather, the Romans stole the designs of the city of Petra, from the building itself and the terraces, and that the first terrace in history was a Jordanian Nabataean terrace

Some other documentaries went into the diverse culture at Petra, how it was a melting pot of different people from around the mediterranian. It also went into the carved buildings into the walls, that some if not all were tombs and they used architecture from the cultures of those who had died. So if it was a roman or greek that died, the architecture of the tomb would reflect that. Some of the tombs were also made for travelers that died in Petra. I'm surprised this documentary didn't cover that. It changes the perspective a bit. It's possible that the painted ceiling wasn't actually proof that Petra was lush with plants and animals, but that traders from greece or rome, which the painting was styled from, actually moved to and lived in Petra and they added the art.

I spent 6hrs walking arnd, there's a wifi cafe down the track, a mini Ampitheatre like the Roman colosseum, and lotsa caves u can walk into and see colorful pictures on the walls. Dont be tempted to take the horse up or down, they look very unstable when stopping on the rocks, especially with lotsa people walking up and down, NJOY the walk. There's a staircase if ur fit enuf to the left of the front of the main Petra building. As with lotsa Egyptian tombs, these rooms are all bare, the entrances are the main attraction. I'd recommend 2 days if you stay locally, time enuf to really take ur time and walk arnd into all caves and the distant surrounding caves on all the different Petra hills. On the way down the initial hill on a tourist trip you're told it was carved from water/flooding, and there are lotsa little caves on the way down...really worthwhile, and not too many over selling vendors like other places........there is a cafe rest stop as previously mentioned with wifi....go bak there for lunch, rest and reset, go exploring again. NJOY

Could you please do a documentary on the Mammoth Ancient Hindu Temple, Brihadeshwara in Tanjore, Tamil Nadu, South India! The Temple is really really huge with 216 feet high Gopurams and completely made out of Granite one of the hardest stones to carve and till date it's a Mystery how and where they retrieved Granite as there's no sign of any granite quary in and around the radius of 300kms around the temple! And the Temple never casts a Shadow❤! It's a True wonder and a UNESCO monument ❤
