I recently drove the lead car on the Grand Tour of Ireland for SCC Private Members. The tour started with collecting a stunning Aston Martin Vantage from the factory at Gaydon. Once in Ireland we were blessed with the most incredible weather and I never actually drove the Aston with the roof up !
I was leading a mega group of cars consisting of a brand new Ferrari SF90 Spider, a 488 Pista, a Portofino, a Mercedes AMG GT-C, a McLaren GT, a purple Lamborghini Hurracan Performate Spider, a very loud Audi R8 and a bright yellow Porsche 911 Carrera T. All these back up by my mate Rick the Spud driving the AMG E63 support wagon.

We did a similar run back in 1966/7, as a family holiday. You drove past the best beach, between Arklow and Wicklow, Brittas Bay - superb sand, cliffs and views. My everlasting memory was of approaching a hump-back bridge in the family A40 and a VW coming the other way, launched into the air, all four wheels off the ground, and when we looked there were four nuns in it!! Priceless!! The scenery was as superb as you showed, even if the weather wasn't so great for us.

SUPERB 👍👍Loved every minute, great editing, wonderful scenery and the weather unbelievable. Brought back very fond memories of two tours we did a few years back with group of Morgan cars. Guinnness not my favourite triple but had to admit it tasted so good on the top floor of the Dublin brewery. To any one who has not been put this on the to do list, you will not be disappointed. Also found the people so friendly and welcoming. Must go back.🤗

Awesome video Pete. What a stunning country. Brings back memories of a trip we did in the 80's, Dublin then around the South Coast, halfway up the West Coast then back across the middle . Sadly we only had a Ford Fiesta but what a place. Loved the fact that you could drive for most of the day and not see hardly anyone else. Great country and the people are friendly and welcoming.

As much as I love living vicariously through your more exotic videos. I have to say I miss the days when the most glamour you had was doing up your mini. I'm never going to have the money to be able to own a car to go on an SCC members tour. The scenery is amazing, and the cars too. Your channel has maybe moved out of my world.

back in 2018 my cousin and i did those road in the mountains above dublin too in a rented vauxhall corsa, was amazing. We also did the ring of kerry which again was breathtaking.

Belated HAPPY Birthday !! What a fantastic roadtrip that must have been, beautiful scenery, amazing roads and super "super" cars. For an entire week !!? ? ? WOW. I finally had my swiss mountain pass trip last weekend, Furka, Gotthard, Nufenen, Grimsel and the part of Susten that was open. I was just there for my own pleasure, not having any gear to film the actual driving. But it was epic i can tell you. ! If you like the roads and view in Ireland I am sure the Swiss passes you will enjoy as well. You should come here if you have not tried them.

We basically did Dublin - Cork - Killarney (2 nights with Ring of Kerry) - Galway - Dublin The details of the the route are effects the IP of the tour company so I’m not able to share. Sorry 😢

Great trip, picked some of our best roads. You missed some epic roads by turning right at Sally gap instead of following the old millitary road all the way, but still got some of the best in the country done. And even better the good weather is still here so get back on the boat with missus ped and lady P tomorrow 😂

tried the Vantage recently, found the noise a be wearing after a while. The rest better than expected I guess. The asking £ for mine was £154k, think I would you have a Protofino instead for that cash as it has 2 kids seats too. Ireland looked epic.

Looks a bit like the nc500 route, but I have to say I am not a fan of SCC, because my porsche pana sport turismo ehybrid is not allowed on the group, pretty sure I could easily keep up with those cars in sports plus and more comfy too!

It’s not a ‘Supercar’ club. It’s a car club with a qualifying car list that goes from sports cars like a 718 Boxster, through supercars all the way to a couple of hypercars 👍

It’s not just about the car. It’s about the driver. Also the speed increases the further back in the convoy you are.

Hi there nice car mr p.p I asked u A question a long time ago it was about wholegrain the new electric cars are the way that they are built and the way that they get their resources for the batteries you still have not give me an answer about what is greener in the carbon footprint to make a petrol car or a diesel car or electric car one of the biggest companies in the world Mr Ford has brought the subject up so why can you not do the same and investigate and do the same investigation about this issue okay thanks 😊

@Tom Bainbridge It may well be but go on any decent drive tour and that is what you get. Ask the cars behind and they will say it's essential and lets them enjoy the road and not annoying 👍

@@PetrolPed thanks Ped: we don’t want to be hated for causing problems and harm. I like driving fast but in a responsible manner. Loved the calling of hazards ahead. We’re planning to do the same and equip ourselves with walkie-talkies

Not one of your best videos, but l guess if someone gives you a Aston and invites you to drive around Ireland for a week, who cares what the youtube viewers think! (I must say also if l was on tour, l would turn the two-way comms off. The tour leader was "cautioning" every bloody corner! What's the point?? Passing a car or a cyclist going the other way shouldn't require a caution).

Very difficult to make a video and be lead car. More positive comments than negative. Radio comms are an essential part of drive tour safety. Ask anyone that has been on a drive tour or indeed any of the drivers in this tour. It gives the cars behind warning of hazards like cyclists. It gives you the confidence to enjoy the road.
