Few wrote as well about loneliness and anxiety as Pet Shop Boys did.

The ending instrumental almost sounds like it could be the end of a first act or sad romantic movie, it just tugs so much at the heartstrings. Feels. So many feels.

The words mean so much to me tonight. She's out on the town, having fun with other people and I'm home alone. I've loved this song since it came out but now it holds so much more personal meaning to it. We were divorced on Christmas Eve yet we still live together and I still have strong feelings for her. Ugh, I guess I'll listen to the Smiths next.

This is the first song the pet shop boys ever wrote and recorded but kept it back for their Behaviour album in 1990 for various reasons

I’ve played this song looking for “the bad guy” in my broken heart. I always blamed my ex’s. Now it’s different. These things would never have happened. Had I been conscious then.
