Why keep trying to cuddle and confine/hug/hold a cat that wants to be left alone?

None of my cats were anything like this. These guys are exceptions.

3 minutes in and I have to stop watching people who don’t know cat behavior.

Our cat chose us. He's neutered and mainly an outside cat. He does come in occasionally, and I worry about him constantly. He's 16 years old this year, developed a heart murmur, and has a growth on his back leg. The vet said it's too big of a risk for surgery, but he does fight with stray cats that come around. He's very loving, and I do worry constantly for his health and well-being. Can't have him inside all the time due to hubby being allergic to them. Makes me wonder if any or all of those cats are neutered or spayed? My cat gets along fine with our two dogs. The dogs were puppies and the cat taught them he was alfa to them. They love each other.

Most of those cats are understimulated - they owners don't play with them regularly, don't take them outside, no interactive toys. You have to play with your cat for at least 15 minutes 3-4 times a day with various toys (cats get bored of the same toys quickly). You could also either let your cat roam in the backyard or leash train your cat and take them outside or build a cattio. My rescue cat from Greece is one of the best things that ever happened to me in life! Cats add so much love and joy to one's life, they are wonderful animals, smart, curious, sometimes spicy, but overall loving.

It is so difficult watching these women push these cats to the point of hissing and scratching and they still go back and try to pet it or pick it up etc. If you want the cat to trust you don’t force any situation. Or try to force them to obey. You need to follow their lead. I have a cat that was as sweet as can be as a kitten but as an adult NOBODY can touch her. She just doesn’t like it. So we don’t touch her and she’s perfectly happy and normal in every other way.

So many of the incidents as filmed I could tell they were going to attack. I currently have a foster cat that has a bite history, then attacked a friend. Then we tried to figure out why, and I CHANGED MY BEHAVIOR, and she is gradually changing hers. So many of these people are doing the same thing that set the cat off over and over and over. Of course the cats are going to continue, the people are not getting the message! (Yes there are some truly crazy animals, but I don't think most of these are)

Cat behavior is very fluctuating, I sometimes compare them to neurodivergent kids who act out when they are over stimulated. My cats are absolute angels. I let them be, pet them sometimes without much thought of course, but if they don't seem into it I stop. So they know to come to me for love and that I stop if they want me to. Even now one of my rescues is purring on me and licking my hand the other one wants space so she is up on the cat wall where I never bother them unless they look for pets while I walk by. I feed them from tea plated so they don't get whisker fatigue, which I thing helps to not over stimulate them in other aspects of life. I do pick them up for a cuddle here and there and they trust me enough to let me have a minute until they squirm just a little and I let go... There is no reason for me to man handle them unless I need to take them to a vet or something and even then they never attack me...

I don't know if this was meant to be humorous but it also came off as negative towards towards cats. I stopped watching it.

I play with my hands feets with my 2 cats and they respect me and I respect them , I don’t do enithing they don’t like , they are domestic yes but not totally, they are Filene’s not dogs

all this cats owner allowing their cats to attack them is one big mistake! owners of cats just like dogs should clearly establish clear boundary what the cats or dogs can or cannot do. only then will the attacks go away. owner should exhibit dorminance over their cats rather than allowing the cats to exhibit dorminance over their humans

C'mon Pets & Vets! This was awful! The cat behaviorists aren't featured enough, or didn't have good advice*. I was turned off by this. And I'm not the only subscriber that was. * More observations of Milo and his human and the environment should've been done before passing judgment on his behavior. I'm sure there's sensible ways to difuse his aggression. And if claw trimming is needed, there are reward-based training options. But if a better trust-bond was nutured between Milo and the lady, it's possible his claws wouldn't need to be trimmed at all.

And this why I’m not a cat person. I can trust my dog! Lol
