By popular demand, here is the spectacular run of Petter Solberg with the VW Polo R WRX SuperCar at Simola Hillclimb in South Africa, where even though he had "only" 600Hp (compared to many 1000+Hp Monsters on that race), way less Aero and a gearbox limited to little over 200Km/h, he would went on to fight for Overall Victory and finishing on 3rd, all while displaying some insane driving skills and finishing the day with some spectacular donuts, very Mr. Hollywood Solberg-style!!!

I was watching Simola, and many had insane (too)powerful cars that were doing late break, tip toe in corner and try to shut out from the corner, and Petter could go just bananas everywhere.

This man is amazing!!!!... insane driving, and we all love that mad Petter donuts, especially when he is half standing out of his car while spinning!!!❤awesome!!!.. I met Petter back in the 2000's when he and Phil Mills were with Subaru World Rally Team, he was amazing to meet, speak, you couldn't meet a nicer person!!. And Phil was the same, what gent's they were!!!! I was lucky enough to meet up the Subaru World Rally Team quite often during the 2000's, the whole Team were fantastic to meet!!! Totally agree, there is something about the Scandinavian drivers that sets them apart. I spent a short time speaking to Mika Hakinen a few years back, no bragging from the man and soooo laid back. Petter fits right into the same category. What a talent👍

You heard him hit the rev limit during the long strait. This was clocked at 202 kmh. That's an insanely short gear ratio for a 600 HP car. Absolutely amazing

Hey Marius, at the time of Simola Hillclimb when we were doing the Live Stream we asked a number of teams (with the fastest cars) if they had fitted Onboard cameras to make vids later. Of course, you are correct that this does not constitute permission from Original owner, which we were not aware but, is you in this case. If you want us to take down the video to keep your copyright protected let us know, we´ll gladly do it as you are completely in the right on this case.

Proper setup and correct gearbox ratio would shave off more than 1 second easily...

@@HillClimbMonsters Proper for what though? That's a straight up WRX gearbox, and running it as a straight WRX car is the most amazing part of it, I'd say. I just noticed he went a bit wide, and a second run would probably mean he had a near optimal line.
