Petula did this in mid 1966 (this album came out in late summer, 1966) not long after the Beatles put it out as the B-side of Paperback Writer. Not many people covered Beatles songs yet, and this was not an obvious choice, as Yesterday might have been. Petula and Tony Hatch always made interesting choices. Thanks!

And she's still on the stage in London's west end musical of 'Mary Poppins' at the grand old age of 87 - a showbiz legend.

As of 15/11/1922 at the age of 90 she is still performing in Mary Poppins The Musical. This is a INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT version of this classic "b" side.

You can clearly hear how awesome Ringo's drumming was on the original.

Nothing beats the original. It's my favorite Beatles song. But this version is pretty cool too.

Talk about the last person you'd expect to cover this song. It's a nice version though.

She almost sounds Indian at the end. What an adventurous lady she is. Wonder if she ever got high? Probably didn't need to, she was high on life. A truly lovely lady!

@@stephenwalker850 - Petula was vivacious, lovable, laughing, chatting, hugging, and radiant when we met one time. That kind of natural high is very desirable, don't you agree?

The brass section ruins it; makes it sound like game show buffer music.
