05:35 thats exactly what i thought when i unboxed mine - as soon as you put the batterypack in there is a gap - might be problematic if it snows/rains

After emailing PetZl I was sent a graph showing the constant lighting for around 2-2.5hrs at good high lumens before steep drop off and then when normal aaa batteries are used the light is similar to the std version , but you get the slightly brighter max 350 (vs 300) , I intend to use with both battery types (mainly core) and use aaa’s while charging the usb core from a battery pack :)

minatour44 hi it’s a great light the core battery is a great performance like all modern rechargeable they drop off fast at the end I bought a second core battery and keep it charged rather than using aaa regards mike

I have actik core, in the description say that i can use also rechargeble NiMh bateries witch is 1.2 volts. x3 got 3.6v . My question is can i use aaa alkaline batteries if they have 1.5 Volts. Or new version aaa LiPo 1.5V micro usb rechargeble? Will they burn head torch?

You will have no problem with the extra voltage the lamp is designed for that the rechargeable batteries deliver more amps at less volts and dry aaa less amps at a higher voltage that’s why the light dims down as the battery goes flat with dry battery and rechargeable battery stays bright then crashes at the end

Thanks for this informative vid. @Don pedrilio - After some searching I discovered why the burn times are so low. It turns out all of Petzls previous models used what they call "Standard Lighting" which means your light will get dimmer over time as the batteries drain. This newer model uses "Constant Lighting" which will keep the same brightness until a specified point where the batteries can no longer keep it bright. Then it switches to a 5lm reserve brightness until its totally dead. All along the advertised 40-60hr burn times were kind of deceitful. But with constant lighting they HAVE to post actual burn times. m.petzl.com/US/en/Sport/CONSTANT-LIGHTING

@mozi95916 жыл бұрын
whats the actual time for the actik core, 60h or 7h or does it depend on the core or the batteries wether it is 60h or 7h?

Mozibei hi I think petzl got it wrong but if you read some of the comments one guy explains how they came to the odd figure due to a reserve lighting mode Regards mike
