Review of 2017's World Car of the Year the Peugeot 3008. In GT spec I see whether the top spec is worth the money and what other engine choices are available.

Thanks for the review. I bought a 3008 Allure 1.2L auto three weeks ago and loving it. My car sounds a lot quieter than the diesel you reviewed, and certainly quieter than my BMW 520d. As I travel less than 5000 miles a year now I decided on the 1.2 petrol engine, which is quite amazing and works beautifully with the 6 speed auto box. Stacks of great kit as standard. I paid less than £24000 for mine and the only options I chose were paint and a full size alloy spare wheel (£100 - a steal at that price) Car comes with Michelin Primacy 3 tyres which, by coincidence, I had fitted to my BMW by choice. Interior style is just the biz and quality is not far off my BMW. I've completed 760 miles on all types of road and averaging 44 mpg. My BMW was a brilliant car with loads of options but I do not miss it.

Hi Prakash. I now have 1400 miles on mine, mainly motorway and main roads. I achived 50.4 mpg on a 97 mile journey on Sunday and 50.3 on a 40 mile journey on Wednesday. I have also had two similar journeys at 48.4 mpg. The 1.2 auto engine is really responsive with no problems joining motorways or accelerating at speeds in excess of 70 mph (I had to exceed the speed limit and do so quickly to avoid an idiot). The 3008 is very quiet, it holds the road well and there are no problems on country lanes at 60 mph. Visibility is very good and it is an easy car to park. I really enjoy driving it - more so than I did my BMW.

There are handles in the boot so you don't have to reach all the way to the backseats to fold them down. Does it have the "push the lever a bit" and the blinker goes 3 times?

Nice review shame about the mic quality, correction the touchscreen is 8" not 12 as you mentioned.

Thanks for the helpful review. We have a 2014 Citroen C4 Picasso. My wife drives it more than me as I work close to where we live. She loves the tight turning circle and easy parking (into tight spaces) that it affords (with rear sensors). Have you thoughts on the 3008 in terms of parking?

Hi Martin, thank you for your message. The Peugeot 3008 has light steering and a decent turning circle which makes it best in its class. The turning circle for your Picasso is 10m and the 3008 is 10.7m, so not a lot of difference. It also comes with front and rear parking sensors and a rear camera can also be specified to help.

You can read the speed on the dials, ive had the 208 and 308 and I'm 5,8....i think I'd have to be 5ft with seating low not to see the speed!

Yes, a very bad, dangerous driving habit. You're only using your right hand to steer and you've even got that on the left hand side of the wheel! Not a good example to set for a car reviewer.
