The 308 is an awesome car in every sense: great manual change, great feeling at the pedals, great feeling at the wheel, great design both inside and outside, great materials inside (not a noise in 3 years, comfy seats, few signs of wearing, soft plastics), tons of space, light chassis, great technology (gotta love the full LED lights)... it's not far from being the perfect hatchback (maybe the not-so-good navigation system and the laggy tactile screen keep it from that). I own a diesel (115hp) and I'm extremely happy with it. The chassis definitely can take so much more... I considered swapping my gas-saving car for a 250/270hp racing machine but I am not rich and my rational side won. Incredible car, deserves so much more praise that it gets from the german-loving press... such an all-rounder, and that engine on the GTi... it's only a 1.6 but it's so powerful at low, mid an high revs and sounds so much better than others.... from what I've seen and read it can definitely kick the ass of most competitors. Very possibly up there with the best from Seat (Cupra 300), VW (Golf R) and Renault (Megane Sport)

That is what I like about this car, it's not the most powerful but it's a fully optimised sport package, chassis, suspension, brakes, gearbox, steering.... You feel safe and in control, you can push. Very nice video mate, thanks.

I have the same car, it's pretty epic, thanks to Peugeots clever weight saving, it actually has a better power to weight ratio than the Golf R. really enjoy driving mine, doesn't have AWD but the limited slip diff is the next best thing.

I did 2 days in this 270 and it is so great to drive on Broads..sooo much grip and the massive breaks keep you on the road...4th gear its 30-80 mph in a blink..love it 💘..

Un 2.0L plus coupleux (380Nm), une boite DSG, et en face un 1.6L une boite mécanique et 4 bonhommes dedans. VW Comme toujours des chassis renforcés a grands coups d'ESP, d'amortisseurs pilotés, même le différentiel est électronique, je serai curieux de voir l'usure des plaquettes au bous de 10 tours.... Peugeot sort un véhicule qui n'a pas la prétention d'être le plus puissant ni le plus monstrueux de la catégorie, mais il propose un Torsen, une boite courte, une voiture légère, le tout confortablement avec une belle finition. Le tort de ce véhicule est finalement d'être à la fois très efficace, et très confortable et ce sans artifice.

Offload those passengers and you would have passed that Golf in an instant...

Being a huge vw, i have to say i would love to see you behind the wheel of the R or clubsport and make them fly!

have to say, watched a few videos of people running the ring but always got quite bored and switched to something else. however I was routed to the screen. you drove really well and to keep up against the four wheel drive and more powerful gold was quite astonishing. and yes, I noticed you also had passengers. also that golf had a rollcage fitted from what I saw, so who knows what else has been done. looked like you could have done with a slightly stickier front end and I reckon you would have beaten it. great fun to watch and a nice camera angle. I have to say I was at on the edge of my seat routing for you. nice one.

The best thing about those Pugs is their gearing ratios. They're short and dynamic, something any other manufacturer is avoiding now to make their cars more efficient..

Excellent driving :) you have got to love that little 1.6ltr engine, it loves to be revved hard and it shows just how well it goes with a car like the 308 GTI 270 against more powerful and bigger capacity cars, and can hold its own (with 4 people in it!!) Just a shame that Peugeot have not sold more of them as they are an excellent motor, I bet when they face lift them and add the i cockpit 2 (its a great place to be), it will end up selling more as they have fixed the slight issue of the steering wheel just interfering with the instrument panel (and you have to be very picky to say that it does). On an off note Bradley, have you tried the new 3008 SUV yet? Love mine and my RCZ R :)

The car is great. As a former Mk6 Golf GTI driver, I drove it a year ago. Best car Peugeot has developed in the last decade easily. It's refined, its lovely. Too bad I had to go for an Estate, so I ordered a Leon Cupra ST 300 FWD Manual, but the 308Gti is really in my heart. I have also driven the GTI Clubsport. It's a very good car. But it's expensive if you load it up. The 308gti is very rare but I love the lightweight high reving 1.6T and due to its lightweight the 330NM feel really strong. In terms of buildquality it almost like a Golf GTI Mk7, very good and way better then the Megane RS or Astra J OPC or Focus ST/RS. Love it! Great driving as well! Will you be more often in Germany?

Very good driving here, but I do have to say that pretty much anyone can be passed in whatever they are driving if they have little to no knowledge of the track which is clear in the case of the golf driver. I know the feeling as I haven’t been on it enough to learn it fully yet and get passed by cars a lot less capable than mine but have a capable driver. There is a compliment in there by the way!

For the Nordschleife and an FWD car you are a little to rough on the entry, you could scrape a few secs of it by just being a bit smoother and easing of the brakes a tiny bit earlier. Take it from a fellow driver. Still awesome video in my second favourite Hot Hatch.

Do you know what kind of time you can put down on an empty track with no passengers, for comparisons sake?
