I’d definitely much rather have the e-208 than a Mini Cooper SE. To these eyes, the Peugeot looks so much fresher, modern and attractive vs. the Cooper SE. It also has much better range and is a lot more convenient with its 5-door body style vs. the Cooper SE’s 3-dr.

I like both cars by default just because they're small EV's but I would definitely rather have the Peugeot without question. Would order it if it came to the US

I have no idea why mini went with the 3 door....it's like they don't want to sell that many (given many OEMs who sell in Europe got rid of their 3 door options for 5 door only because no one buys the 3 door ones!) They should have done an EV clubman....a much more useful sized car.

If you want a driver's car you go for the mini. It has good acceleration and great handling. If you want a good ev you go for the e208

9:35 As long as the package is sealed, those chips will usually keep long past their "best before" date. As soon as you open the pack and let air in, the fat will start to oxidize and eventually become rancid. Also the salt will accumulate humidity from air and make them soft and limp.

75kW is great considering the battery capacity. Hopefully, the battery has a strong enough heater to handle similar speeds in winter as well.

6:35 I think, the cable is watercooled. You can hear the noise of the coolant pump. I charged a few weeks ago on an ABB-HPC and there was no noise, which means, that the cooling system doesn't worked. Got only 30kW there.

I agree! H+S 400A cables should be water cooled. There are some non-watercooled cables, but they are currently only at Delta chargers.

Perhaps you could add a km-of-range-added per minute in your charging spreadsheet, max charging speed divided by consumption or something like that?

SO many times you hear people say 'I can't go on holiday or a weekend trip". Most forget that 95% of the weekend trips are within 300km from their home. Statistic of course from a travel agency in Europe over a few years. Only the main holiday could be further away. SO for majority of the year these cars are more good enough.

7:00 circle K now charges per kWh, so if the cable gets hot and reduces charge speed, you will only loose time, and not money...

Nicely done, I like the scenic footage. This car (and its stablemate the e-Corsa) kind of shames the BMW group's Mini-E, making it more or less a Mini-afficionados car only. Look at these cars BMW, this is what your Mini-E platform should have been.

"geil" in german means something like "nice, cool, perfect and exciting etc.". "geilo" is actually not a word but sometimes used from "old people" instead of the word "geil" trying to be "crazy, young and hip". So "geilo" is somehow the awkward try to say that something is cool in the "language of the youth", which results in becoming the weirdo instant. I'm glad that I know now that the "Geilo test" is about a route to a town named Geilo ^^

Seem like this e208 gets about half the range I get with my 130hp petrol 208. A full tank usually gets me around 540-560km. I believe that's quite impressive for this little electric car.

I can see in your chart that the Ioniq38kWh is still way more efficient... Better consumption AND in much worse conditions (winter + lots of rain...). The Ioniq offers more room, too.

Hyundai Ionq 38kW passed the Geilo test. I would be highly disappointed and surprised if the e-208 wouldn't. Edit: it was the 38kW version, not the 28kW.

The weight was totally OK. It shown gross weight (GR) and net weight (NT) which is minus the driver weight.

hello, the video is cool for this peugeot e-208. But, I want to request a versus of 4 electric cars at similar cost. Here is the list of electric cars: Renault ZOE ZE50, Hyundai IONIQ 38Kwh, Nissan LEAF First 40Kwh (important to take the First 2020 model for its best efficiency) and Peugeot e-208. Do a Geilo test for the missing one. And make a journey in reverse of all the cars of 400 or 600 km of highway compared to 105Km / h GPS. Maximum speed which seems the most favorable whatever the CX / sCX of the vehicle to have a fair comparative basis. It would be perfect with a summary of the technical data results. In view of your relative thoroughness, I hope that this test will allow an impartial ranking of efficiency (IONIQ share favorite logically) as well as advantages and disadvantages of different cars. Cordially.

A small comment. I would have liked you to discuss and compare your efficiency measurements/findings to the other cars in your data table and to have maybe ranked comparable cars in order of efficiency. That would have been helpful. Also could you give the results in KwHs/mile as well as per km? It’s a pain to have to mentally re-calculate into local currency! Thanks 🙏

I just remember 15.5 kWh per 100 km is around 4 miles per kWh and do a rough calc around that .

I still think your video would be slightly improved if when you have your findings you go through and say where the results mean the car is in the list - is it the best or worst or just in the middle. You could be really influential as you have a big fan base. Anyway. Talk to you later!

Two versions here in Norway: Siste forbruksdag: Last day of use (not allowed to sell) Best før: Taste better before (but not neccesary bad after, and allowed to sell after that date). Why throw perfectly good food? Milk out of date (Best før) - use your nose and tounge - nobody dies of sour milk. Soon we are protected so long up our asses that the world will fall apart if you get a bad day :)

Of course not. It can hit 95-100 kW for a short time. Check charging video.

BMW's charge curve is pretty much flat from 0 to almost 90%. This makes it easy to plan the stops as you can easily predict how much time you'll be at the charger (useful in countries with too few chargers for too many EVs).
