And now his 15 year old heart will be working to supply a body too big for it and overwork itself causing health problems he will deny and ignore because he doesn't know any better. He's shortening his life for vanity. But credit to him for being honest and sharing awareness of his actions, unfortunately the area of the brain responsible for decision making and won't be fully developed for another decade.

@FosFate

Alcohol in extremely moderate amounts (like a glass of 🍷) is nothing and won't even damage your body. Steroids on the other hand can straight up kill you faster.
@DembaraLemoon
@DembaraLemoon Жыл бұрын
It depends entirely on dosage and specifics. Steroids just refer to drugs that mimic your androgens functions (e.g., testosterone). I took steroids when I was 12 on a prescription for some medical reason (I don't entirely remember why, it was a long time ago). Steroids are potentially very dangerous, but it depends on how often you use them, how much you use and for how long. The same is true for alchohol or any other substance for that matter. The difference is alchohol poses the danger of being chemically addictive, in a way that steroids are not.

@@DembaraLemoon When people talk about steroids they’re never talking about medically prescribed ones. Hormones are fine if you’re actually supposed to have them. Unless you’re an alcoholic, your liver can recover if you’re still young and take a break off alcohol. You can’t recover from hormones because they literally alter your body. If you self-medicate hormones or change gender, you WILL die early. You WILL be prone to disease. You cannot reverse it.

Exactly - especially when he said it's like 15 year old girls trying to get really thin, even taking weight loss drugs, they're both so young and consider any side effects or long term damage worth it, because all they can think about is how they look now, not how they'll have to live for the rest of their lives. I really hope it doesn't damage his heart/lungs/kidneys or hormones long-term, because that sounds so hard to live with, especially if you do it to yourself.

Addiction doesn't care about age and will distort your thoughts regardless, while making you think they're your thoughts.

This is especially prominent in the art community. On Instagram people follow art tip pages and sometimes they'll go over anatomy or stuff that involves gravity or lighting and sometimes people get offended saying "this is wrong it depends on the style" (when it will literally be teaching you volume of shapes and whatnot) or "sexism" because their body isn't shaped like that one example they had... Which is ironic because it's an example and there is someone (and many others) out there shaped like that... Like bruh why follow an art tip page if you don't want the advice...?

Man, that quote of "I've always been obsessed with how my body looks and [other people's perception of my body]" is textbook for someone who has anorexia or bulimia. Pewds is 100% correct that this is the male version of *unobtainable* body standards (it's not unobtainable but does take years upon years of consistent hard work and dedication). A low self-esteem seems so easy to get for kids coming up with social media, unfortunately... They look at people who've been working for those bodies for as long as they've been alive, without realizing how much it actually takes to get like that - then those same profiles advertise different substances which "helped them" get to those physiques (they did not.. they're nothing more than ads 95+% of the time). That his parents and the adults around him see no problem with this is really disgusting imo.

It's very much an illness, just like bulimia or other eating/looks based disorders. Body building can easily be an addiction that goes so far it ends up killing you at a young age. The body simply isn't designed to withstand this punishment. Just listen to Hugh Jackman on why he needed to retire as Wolverine, staying in that shape was destroying his body.

I suffer from an ed and yes that sounds like a mentality of someone with an ed. I put my body through hell to lose weight, even though im already slightly underweight, and am aware that this look simply is not attainable, except if you are a naturally thin person, which idk what i am cause i went from slightly overweight due to daily overeating, to slightly underweight due to under eating, or even starving myself at some points. This mentality is horrible and is very hard to overcome. I suffered both mentally and phisically for simply being skinny. It may sound dumb, especially coming from a guy, but this happens.

The Best part about this, is that when most males hit puberty their abundant hormones affect muscles even more than steroids. I still remember not being able to do pull-ups and after at most 2 hours of exercise in three days i could do 3-4 at a Time on a rotating bar. It's why most tennagers go through drastic physique changes during that time, and it's also The Best time to start some light to medium exercise. (it's Best not to overdo it since it could cause an incredible amount of development problems though)

It’s also something you can control and be competitive with, while it not being as hard as life. Improvement is easily seen with numbers etc, so u know what you’re doing. As someone recovering from anorexia it’s the exact same thing. I knew a kid in highschool who was on roids. He was scary strong. Like scary scary stong. He was on the football team as a DB. He destroyed people. One day during practice he roid rages and punched a kid in the head. Shatter his jaw, orbital bones, put him in a coma. Kid was expelled and I think he went to jail. Roid rage is real.

I feel like orthorexia isn't talked about enough, a lot of gym junkies have it. It never is noticed though coz people think it's "healthy". Sad when body image issues and EDs result to these extremes :(

The entire video is just him trying to convince himself that even though he used cheat codes he still earned it. I'm big into lifting, but the reason I have never used roids is because right now I know every muscle I have is a result of what I put in. Coming in 5th place in a race feels better than coming in 1st because you cheated.
