Such a great insight about how ownership often inherits the franchise. Some of the franchises are absolute basket cases. Their should be a rule that if you don't make the playoffs in 10 -15 years, the ownership should be moved on. Make them accountable for success!!

The lions are a perfect example of being stuck with poor ownership. William Clay Ford held this team down for decades. Wasn’t until he passed and his wife and now daughter took control where actual change in the team became possible

My god. Compare how the sports media talks about Tomlin versus every other coach. These analysts can't get Siriani and McCarthy fired fast enough even though they've both been better than the Stealers for years. Tomlin gets coddled like a damn 4 year old EVERY year.

Lol Tomlin is a hard one to figure out because he's obviously not garbage and he's obviously not great. He's the best average coach ever.

Tomlin keeps taking mediocre teams to the playoffs. His teams always play hard and he's never had a losing season. That's why they say good things about him. A Mike Tomlin team would never play lackluster unmotivated games like Dallas and Philadelphia did this weekend.

@@miket.1933 They wouldn’t. I can see the appeal of having fans buys shares of their team to increase engagement and emotional investment and make them feel part of the organization. That’s a big appeal with Green Bay. But having a CEO and a board of directors and basically giving shareholders the power to remove someone, it would just be an utter disaster and most likely collapse the league. Florio didn’t really give the how or an in depth response to this scenario but the fact he even mentioned it I wouldn’t be surprised if Jeff Pash called NBC and said get this guy outta here

People own many things in America. Houses, Land, Businesses. When you own something you can do what you please with it. This is a fact. You're comment about the fan base who can't do anything because of their team's owner is just the way it is in America. I would like to own more land but until I have the money, marry into it, or inherit it, I am on the outside looking in. If you want to run a team, buy one. If we changed the NFL ownership structure to a CEO and board of directors there would be corruption and disfunction just like our government.

Florio go ahead and cover for Vrabel and crap on Titans ownership. Vrabel is a good coach not yet by any means a great coach. He has lessons to learn about judging staff performance not simple blind staff loyalty. Let's see if Vrabel's achilles of power hunger and non-productive loyalty to "his guys" on staff pays off at next gig. This firing cannot be judged until we see how MV performs at next HC job. He promoted and attempted to push his yes men from within at the detriment to the Titans. Strunk didn't fire him because she was girlishly offended at pro-Patriots comments when he visited NE. He was already on thin ice all year due to his personality and control insistence. Let's just wait and see how he does next gig.
