In this video, we go over the basics of getting this amazing airplane into the air and controlling its ascent and cruise.

Thank you sir. Your videos on the 78 not only answered all my questions the Google seemed to struggle with, but I got a few laughs in as well. Very much appreciated and keep up the great work! Fly safe!

When I flew the CRJ our procedure for engine start was to have the F/O start the engine during push back. The first thing he would do is to select T/O flaps and then start the engine. Also, the rudder pedals can be used for taxi in these aircraft. They only give 5 to 10 degrees left and right deflection of the nose gear so we only used that for small corrections during taxi. When a turn was required we used the tiller for that. Another great video.

Glad you like the HGS system. I work on the overhead projector (HPU), I've also done some work with the combiner (HCU). One interesting thing, all the avionics in the aircraft are made by Collins Aerospace.

Do you have Nose wheel steering (tiller) separate from your rudders?

Great video. I use FLCH to push the aircraft to climb it does climb but when I click VNAV again the aircraft stops climbing and starts to cruise. Are we supposed to use FLCH until the aircraft is at the desired altitude?

hi bud, ive been having a pitch issue with the 787 since i got it. it just randomly pitches absoloutely upwards and i have to fully push my stick all the way down just to stay level, as the speed increases so does the pitch issue. i havent seen a single fix anywhere on thls, any ideas?

Same problem as u did u find a fix for it ?

Just curious why you recommend not starting both engines simultaneously, as the 787 is capable of it.

Prior to these recent updates, I could fly High Altitude Airways using the Localizer button on the Autopilot panel. Then the plane would follow the programmed route, making the turns automatically. Then on approach, it would follow those waypoints all the way to final. But now, I can't figure out how to get this to work. Can you help?

Progam the FMS with your flight plan that includes runway you want to land at and the approach you are going to use. This will automatically have the aircraft follow all the waypoints to the final.

Does anyone else have this problem when the 787 randomly turns off?

The 787 engine starters are electrical not pneumatic

I came here to make that same point. At least with the GE engines, you can start the engines off ground power, no need for APU. Don't know about the RR.
