Yes, the opening notes of prelude 1 are just magical. I was moved by this, although I have played this piece for 15 years.

I saw him play in Virginia a couple of months ago and for the second half he played Ponce's Variations and Fugue on La Folia followed by the Britten Nocturnal (guessing he did the same program here). What a combo and what a program... Segovia's favorite solo followed by Bream's! His videos are fantastic but it was truly inspirational to see Marcin play in person.

Maybe in the beginning use the metronome, but once an understanding of beat division is completely mastered, hand it down to another beginner 😉😘💕

Here's a good question: Is the guitar an "intimate" instrument because of its timbre or because of its lack of louder dynamic ability?

I don't think it is the metronome, I think it is people who rely too heavily on it. It is a nice tool, but in reality the metronome to music is the same as training wheels to a bike. Instead of learning balance, the musicians should develop their own sense of rhythm and musicality separate from that beating devil.
@TSgitaar
@TSgitaar 5 жыл бұрын
The metronome can be helpful in some stages of learning to play an instrument or a piece. It is important to develop a sense of rhythm. If you are struggling to keep time, the metronome can be a great tool. As a practice tool, it is great. But when you are playing the piece, you have to let go of the metronome and find the flow of the piece.

I totally agree about not using the metronome, I stop using it most of the times. It makes us guitarists sound like a robot...it kills your personality
