For episode 15 of the train store walk through series I visited the absolutely incredible Cornerfield Model Railroad museum & Trading post in Middlefield Ohio!!!
OMG I DIED AND WENT TO TRAIN HEAVEN! LOL
The layout Is O Scale 1:48, and measures 145’ long x 32’ wide! Its MAXIMUM TRAIN ACTION AT ITS BEST‼️‼️

i've been an n-scaler for 50 years- 40 years in as a club motor man- and i think these huge trains are awesome! compared to what i work on- there's almost enough room to climb right in there. as a kid- i can remember mac lowrey's 'railways of america' o-scale display- mac used to yell at any kid that tried to touch something. this is a much more impressive display, but mac had a lot of scratch-made steam units that were really one-offs. thanks for posting this vid.

@kims2651 I loved electric trains when I was a little girl, too. I still do!! My older brother had a set of Lionels from the 1940s and 1950s and he was kind enough to let me play with them and run them. I have wonderful memories of those trains and those Christmases when we’d run them around the tree and my mother and I would set up a little village with those old putz houses. I used to love that wonderful smell of a train’s undercarriage after it had been running for a while. Precious happy memories.

TK from PA I'm in my 70s. Grew up on Long Island and was a Dodgers fan. My Dad used to take my sister and me to Ebbitt's Field a few times a year. Gil Hodges was my favorite player. To this day I don't know if I enjoyed the LIRR and subway both ways more than the ball game, or vice versa. Out on the island, the train was not elevated. So it was an awesome feeling having to climb the steps to get onto the train. Alll LIRR trains travelled through Jamaica Station. It was a major transfer point for LIRR going to or from Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn or Penn Station NYC. Those three stations were elevated, and you merely walked on the ramp to enter or exit the train. Upon exiting the subway in Brooklyn, you were immediately hit with the aroma (or smell depending on your likes or dislikes) of cigar smoke. We always sat on the lower level, first base (Dodgers) side. Sometimes we were lucky to get seats closer to the dugout, usually though we were behind first base - always aware of where the steel beams were supporting the upper level seats. What does this have to do with trains? Pee Wee Reese, Carl Furillo, Roy Campanello, Duke Snyder, and Gil Hodges. Whether the Dodgers won or lost, I was okay with that, because I still had the Subway and LIRR trains to get back to home. And I had my own Lionel 027 guage trains set up in the basement. Those trains stayed with me until sometime in the 1990s when someone stole them from what I thought was a secure place in an open to the owners storage room of the co-op where I lived. Thinking back to when I realized they were gone, I can tell you that was a low point in my life. My mission now is to travel from Scranton area to just a few miles past the Ohio/Penna state line and see this awesome facility. I may make it before the snows this winter, or I'll be there after spring gets here. Two great oves in my life baseball and trains. Which one is better? My answer is this. Ask me which ABBA song song I like best, and I'll answer whichever one I am listening to at the moment.

This is HUGE! I loved all the detail of the towns and the industrial areas, the amusement park. The moving things inside the towns, trolley, fire trucks, trolley, etc. What I loved, too, was that the drive-in movie was showing the film Unstoppable starring Denzil Washington and Chris Pine. Yes, I recognized it from that little bit he focused on it. I loved the melding of the old and new. JB Big Boy fellow on top of the Starbucks and the wind turbines. The Lionel Train Store with a little train inside! Oh Wow! Brilliant, absolutely brilliant. Clearly a work of love.

This is an astounding achievement! This is my favorite type of layout, and you did an excellent job putting the video together to show everything. Going in, even when the dimensions were mentioned, I thought how is there enough that it needs a 45-minute video? But there were two amusement parks, a nature preserve, two baseball parks, and countless cool city scenes to discover. Plus, I have never seen that complicated of a working roundhouse. One of the carousels in one of the amusement parks is very beautiful. Yes, I watched the whole thing!

@@PghTrainFanatic at 10:09 again you called the (bump & go / end-to-end running) self-reversing TRAM - a trolley. I was thoroughly amused though - that you absolutely MISSED the rooftop helicopter (on the roof pad of a smaller sky-scraper) Easily seen with it's rotor spinning at 10:18 Ah but hey - with so much fine detail to contend with - missing something was always on the cards - plus "trains" was the theme for this, wasn't it.

My uncle, not the kindest person in the world but family nonetheless RIP, introduced me to the model HO gauge train world and models in general. Trains were always at the forefront of his mind while I knew him. He had many hobbies before I was in the picture; aquariums, legos, guitars, and k-nex were among some that he collected and organized vehemently. His HO scale setup was the most impressive modeling I've seen in person by far. Originally starting in his garage in Lansing, Iowa, he ran Chicago, Champaign, and Southern, a line beloved by his fellow enthusiasts and peers. This line eventually moved down to Rockford, IL during the last years of his life, and later he passed in 2016. His attention to detail was second to none, no stone left unturned, no dot of paint wasted, no grass without purpose. He custom built and painted his diesel and steam locomotives as well as his passenger cars and freight lines. The walls of his facility were adorned with murals of bright nature reminiscent of a mid-west US afternoon. The smell of the room was a dangerous enticement, as if 1000's of packs of Magic the Gathering cards were opened at once or as if a Barnes and Noble had burnt down. While the man was not my favorite person in the world in terms of temperament and egotism, he instilled in me a deep love for all things built by hand, crafted with the soul. The part of him that I love lives on forever in the art of the craft. Thanks for uploading your vids of all types of model trains and things, it really has brought back some deep feelings and memories.

As a kid who grew up in the '50s, Lionel was a major part of my life. But to see actual scale reproductions running on Lionel three-rail track is just awesome (as opposed to foreshortened trains obviously chasing their tails!). One can feel the love these folks have for this wondrous hobby. It would be interesting to know how planning took place on a layout this extensive. One really has to have the imagination of a city planner to even begin to conceive of the process. Pretty magical that you arrived during snowfall as model trains are such a part of traditional winter Holiday Seasons. Must, must, must see this in person! But, until that time, thank you for your well shot video with its extensive tour of each nook and cranny. Bravo!

So nice to see how you have honored your great grandfather and through you tube you have shared it with the world. We hope the Shriner's Hospitals and St. Jude in Memphis can share it with their patients as well. And the seniors in the world's nursing homes too. We look forward to seeing it in person too! Our family thanks your family for sharing it here with us also. Enjoy and may peace and balance reign somehow in a world that needs them so very much.

In the late 50s a friend's father had a O gauge layout in his basement. He had American Flyer trains. You could make the steam engines "smoke". I remember watching the trains for hours in fascination. Thank you for posting!

Thank you so much. You brought back memories from the 60’s where a close family friend had his place covered in tracks. The tracks went around most of the rooms except the kitchen and the bathroom. If there was a door, you could expect a train to cross that doorway. To enter or exit a room, you had to duck under the tracks. Of course, it wasn’t anything like this. Sadly he passed and I never saw the train sets again.

AMAZING ! What a layout, what a precision, what a detail...! It's crazy, wonderful ! I'm French and love American railroad for so long and I'm totally amazed with this incredible setup. (just a little review, the buildings seem too new and clean and would deserve to be a little aged, like the Keystone one, to be more realistic again. I know, it would be very long...!)
