@JohnJohn-yl4ko and @AlReviews-bn3uv, No one can tell exactly what will and will not happen. It is much safer for you not to hold a dynamite or grenade in your hand wishing it will not explode. In Japan for instance, they are a more developed country and more technically advanced than Philippines. Would anyone here who advocates for nuclear energy still believes that if you observe and strictly follow procedures, accidents and disaster will not happen? You must be dillusional then. If you wanted to endanger your lives then do so but leave others out of it. You did not experience what those victim of nuclear power plant disaster had gone through. As a result of the nuclear plant disaster, which caused the triple tragedy of the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident, approximately 20,000 people lost their lives and over 2,500 are still officially reported as missing, while a further 6,000 suffered injuries. @@JohnJohn-yl4koNuclear energy ‘does not reduce the price of electricity’ Nuclear power plants can be attractive for their owners but not necessarily for consumers as they hardly ever determine the price of electricity on the energy exchange The price of electricity is formed at the energy exchange and it is always determined by the most expensive power plant which is necessary to meet demand. And usually it is the gas power plant which is the most expensive and determines the price of electricity This is a question of who gains and who pays. When somebody says that the nuclear power plant is cheap, it is for the owner but not necessarily for the consumer

@@KaApplyThe nuclear industry has been in decline in the USA for decades. Despite the country being one of the first nations to generate nuclear energy for commercial civilian purposes, there have been few developments since the late 1970s. For instance, since 1978, only two nuclear power plants have started construction, and that only occurred in 2013. This industry has stalled because of various broad challenges related to economics, regulatory frameworks, and technological problems, as well as declining respect within the public sphere. Reactors, which rely on technologies developed over 40 years ago. They are expensive to build and even more so to maintain across their lifecycle. Costs do not just concern the initial construction, but also the ongoing price of fuels, operational costs, and engineering fees. And then there’s the problem of the nuclear waste, which in the US is mostly stored in tanks at sites owned by the Department of Energy The industry was also fatally wounded by the Three Mile Island partial meltdown in 1979, which caused new regulatory delays to the 51 new reactors that were under construction at the time. With the introduction of new safety procedures and back-fit requirements, the speed of construction was slowed down, and the costs skyrocketed for many reactors. After that, many contracts were canceled and the industry ground to a halt.

The operator of Japan's destroyed Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant demonstrated Tuesday how a remote-controlled robot would retrieve tiny bits of melted fuel debris from one of three damaged reactors later this year for the first time since the 2011 meltdown. Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings plans to deploy a “telesco-style” extendable pipe robot into Fukushima Daiichi No. 2 reactor to test the removal of debris from its primary containment vessel by October. That work is more than two years behind schedule. The removal of melted fuel was supposed to begin in late 2021 but has been plagued with delays, underscoring the difficulty of recovering from the magnitude 9.0 quake and tsunami in 2011. During the demonstration at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' shipyard in Kobe, western Japan, where the robot has been developed, a device equipped with tongs slowly descended from the telescopic pipe to a heap of gravel and picked up a granule. TEPCO plans to remove less than 3 grams (0.1 ounce) of debris in the test at the Fukushima plant

Reactors, which rely on technologies developed over 40 years ago. They are expensive to build and even more so to maintain across their lifecycle. Costs do not just concern the initial construction, but also the ongoing price of fuels, operational costs, and engineering fees. And then there’s the problem of the nuclear waste. Nuclear energy ‘does not reduce the price of electricity’ Nuclear power plants can be attractive for their owners but not necessarily for consumers as they hardly ever determine the price of electricity on the energy exchange. If you replace the capacity of a nuclear power plant for example by the capacity of a coal power plant, the price will not change because it is still the natural gas power plant being the most expensive one and deciding about the price. This is a question of who gains and who pays. When somebody says that the nuclear power plant is cheap, it is for the owner but not necessarily for the consumer

The nuclear industry has been in decline in the USA for decades.

I do accept the new technology of nuclear energy its for the better of the country rather than Fossil fuels i know there are risk but the nuclear energy will be available 92% of the time than newer cleaner energy using solar, hydro, wind, and thermal they will be only available 32% of the time a cleaner energy won't replace the energy given out by nuclear reactor's and im really looking forward to it power demand's are getting higher because of the greenhouse effect on earth rather than old fossil fuels

No one can tell exactly what will and will not happen. In total, over 470,000 people were evacuated from their homes. You have NO RIGHT to endanger the lives of others for your greed

There is no politics when people's lives are at stake genius. The nuclear industry has been in decline in the USA for decades. After that, many contracts were canceled and the industry ground to a halt.

guys, don't focus on things that we didn't sure if we can handle if it goes heavy! mag focus tayo sa solar & renewable energy kagaya ng sabi ng ating mahal na pangulo. we can't handle a leak for now! if you want to produce nuclear energy make it far away from our fellow filipino's. may posibilidad na gamitin ng mga terorista sa masama ang mga pasilidad na nuclear natin!
