You should use Phantom of the Opera in the titles of the other videos as well. This video is viewed 28 times more than the other ones ;) Well done on this performance. It's insane how any amateur group is able to do The Phanom, really... but I always love seeing how things run backstage. If those 3 girls at 9:09 are really part of the backing vocals, that was quite fun to see!
@mohongzhi
@mohongzhi 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 3 girls at 9'09 are real. And it's real amateur group can be able to do almost anything. I am in Shanghai International Choir league and we did even full Bach's B minor Mass, John's Passion etc. with full orchestra (of course the full orchestra you can say just as on this video, mostly amateurs). It's just possible with amateurs to have time and have basic music training, even not have to be conservatory students.

Na man. There’s is a thing called “noise gating” or “noise suppressing” that the engineer would apply to the mics...essentially it eliminate room noises and pick up the sound of the instrument as long as it was loud enough to hear. Basically you would need to literally slam the door to pick ip that sound lol. An engineers biggest problem I. This situation is controlling the bleed from every instrument hitting every mic lol

I had video in front of me (which is what you can see me looking at all of the time!) and mic fold back for me, and on stage had full orchestra fold back and videos of me in wings and in house. Orchestra didn't hear too much onstage vocals, it was mostly conductor, keys and drums that had that. Plus only myself and keys 1 and drums had click for the overture/phantom of the opera. It seemed to work quite well - orchestra just had to be very tight in following me!

A production that actually understands light pollution, and it’s attenuation. You can have a room FULL of fluorescence, so long as the room immediately outside is UV/Violet/black light, as it will absorb ALL white light, and not bleed/transfer into another space (stage, hallway, room), beyond the “barrier.”

@NewMoonStarlight
@NewMoonStarlight 4 жыл бұрын
@@kitlane362 I couldn't find direct sources, so this is speculative as my house doesn't have UV and fluorescent lights to test this with. But extrapolating from (1) the fact that shorter wavelengths of light don't travel as well through dense media (air, water, etc) and (2) UV light has a shorter wavelength than visible light (possibly making it act like a denser medium), I can hypothesise that a room that has UV lights in it could act like a body of water in terms of scattering visible light. I would absolutely do some science on this if I could, but I can't, so I won't. It would explain why all theatres seem to have at least one random UV-lit area in them.
@jamesb6820
@jamesb6820 4 жыл бұрын
@@NewMoonStarlight Sorry, this is all wrong. I think what OP is talking about is the blue light in the room outside the band which clearly leads onto the Wing. Blue light is used simply because is is a deeper light colour then white, red or green which means that the light will be dimmer. This causes less bleed onto the stage as more light can be absorbed by the black masking around the stage. UV has nothing to do with it as UV lighting would: 1) Make white costume glow off-stage (not wanted) 2) Be invisible to the actors, not aiding their walking around the space (unsafe)

I don't understand the reason the director subdivides the beat continuously. In this way the music sounds much more rigid, "cut with a knife". For musicians it is very uncomfortable and not very expressive to follow the beat indicated by eighth notes. The result is infinitely superior WITHOUT SUBDIVIDING.

That's the beauty of a live orchestra, though a pre-recorded track can give the performers/orchestra a break from the work etc., but having to deliver it live, It gives a more rushing feeling, you know? I really haven't performed on stage with a live orchestra but that thrill of live playing is just a treat for the performers and THE audience, plus, the orchestra can adjust to the performer, thus, giving the actor/actresses freedom to give diction or more attitude of the lines they are bound to deliver. It's just more authentic to listen to when there is a live orchestration accompanied for the whole execution of the story. Also, support to our orchestra people! They do so much good work! That is my opinion :)))
