Awesome video I’m so excited u decided to make more of these phaseplant sound design videos. And I agree it’s better to just have an rough idea of what to do and then just sit and play and tweak ur own individual sounds than just recreating some other weird sounds that’s popular that week. And u explain very good too so just keep em coming I’ll be here waiting for em

really enjoyed how you chose E > F and then B > C on the piano roll. This helped me realize the relationship between notes right next to eachother. All white keys. The pattern is true of all scales in terms of ratios. Nice!

I started making this sound along with u but obviously I detoured, as specified by the instructions lol ended up with a low pass filter w/lfo and a band split multipass with foldback on the mid... Then I cheated n slapped rift on it and my face melted... So much happiness 😍

a little tip when scrolling through ableton presets, next to the save icon, there's the "hot-swap"(or whatever it is called) button, that way you press that button and you just need to double click the preset/plugin, you want to put it instead of the thing you want to change. Anyways, really enjoyed this video, probably learned more about reeses in this video than in all other videos i watched.
@artfxdnb

Oh I know about the hot-swap feature and I use it often enough, I think you were referring to the part where I'm trying out a few different AMP presets on the patch, tbh in that case, hot-swapping wouldn't have been that much faster actually, so I just drag and drop the new preset on the device instead.

Ruuku Tube you can do this in Europa and Serum but you have to bounce, freeze, flatten, and then do the split in to three lanes for processing.

I don't have Europa or Serum, @@RicDolore... I know what bouncing is, but what do you mean by "freeze" and "flatten"? I take it lanes means tracks in the DAW though?

yes but be careful: Wave Table editing LFO editing is badly handled in Phaseplant. Its just to much of editing and not intuitive. Phaseplant also not capable of midi learn all parameters. Also.. and.. allthough it can sound really good... those lots of tiny windows are a pain and a big time loss.. for me.. and there is an Idea for this.. and how it could be much more accessible.. i hope updates come. Still.. and by far not what i imagine of the Synth of the future... more intelligent and useful updates are the only thing that will help stay in Business. Way to expensive without proffessional editing capabilities of everything.. midi LFO and Wavetable windows.. and Unison count Automatable and the list goes on and on.. its Time.. do it and secure a faithfull customer community through the years!! Thanks,!!

Wavetable and LFO editing in PhasePlant works pretty straightforward, it might not be what you are used to but that doesn't mean it is bad and unintuitive. Editing LFO shapes and wavetables is just as easy as many similar synths, once you get how it works. Now about the MIDI learn feature, I agree that can be useful, but you can MIDI learn parameters as soon as you map them to a Macro knob. Macro knobs can be MIDI learned and thus since you can map almost anything to a macro knob, you can MIDI learn pretty much anything. The point about "tiny windows" I don't fully get, which tiny windows? All of the windows that you need to drag or move stuff around in can be enlarged, the small windows are the effects that honestly don't need to take up more space than they do and you can scale the entire PhasePlant GUI to make the entire plugin window larger. Regular effects that don't involve me tweaking EQ curves don't require a huge space to display the individual parameters, that would just be eating away valuable screen space for no reason. The effects that you do need a bit more control over, like the EQ's, you can open up so you get a larger window to adjust them. Also, nobody is calling PhasePlant the "synth of the future", PhasePlant is a semi-modular synth with really deep controls that are aimed at people who like that deep control over the patches they make, PhasePlant is a complex synth that gets more complex the bigger your patches are, just like hardware modular synthesis does. It does give you all the editing control you need and actually often gives you way more options than many other synths do. You can edit LFO's and wavetables just as well as in let's say Serum or another similar synth, it just works slightly differently. About automating the number of unison voices, why would you even want that? Automating the number of voices while audio is playing would result in volume increases while you automate the number of voices to go up since every added voice will in some way stack with the other voices and thus create a volume jump. Instead of automating the voice count, it's much better to keep the number of voices on one setting, but instead, automate the blend knob (which is automatable). This achieves largely the same thing but without sudden jumps in volume. If we can say one thing, that Kilohearts is doing really well in terms of business, so your argument falls completely flat about "staying in business", their userbase is really strong and they have been working close with many of us known musicians before the product even was released, to this day me and dozens of other people actively beta test the product and help Kilohearts to make it better at what it is aimed to do. This combined with the fact Kilohearts has a very active Discord community with more than a thousand members contributing to improving the product and who like the product the way it is, says that they have a faithful customer community already.

now take a breath there, you just do not get the point in so many areas and have no clue what im talking about... keeping conform to standards and run with the mass. Thats how it sounds. No need to explain the features.. as i know them in an out.. The question "why would you possibly do this or that" is very symbolic of a standstill... there are some creative ways of performing.. not clicking with the mouse.. an those ways involve the use of more than 8 knobs. My Keyboard has 32 knobs and Sliders and 16 channels.. now hold on for a sec. .i'm your friend and have no problem with you and like your Tuts.. but 32 per 16 are the possibilities that my Keyboard offers.. why should i minimize and be limited by just 8?? just mapping an ADSR would ocupy 4 of them.. 4 left.. what you do with them?.. maybe cutoff reso volume and reverb . Thats it. This is like having a Ferrari but not being able to switch gears. As for the windows. There are some ideas there. But definetly... and i have 50 Synths.. those windows need to be muuuuch better in terms of intuitive interface.. better grids and snapping points.. Feedback numbers and lot more choices... I wrote such interface already in 2008.. and have some ideas that really would make a huge difference.. but will leave it there and look for another Synth and company that gets it. See.. i think it crucial to remove square thinking and open to ideas of individuals. Still waiting for answer from Kilohearts with this regards... and have watched a few videos from last year complaining about the LFO envelopes windows... as by now.. no improvements were made. Lastly i can assure you that ignoring the users wish.. comes with a big price... companies that understand this will lead.. and even Free options get better and better by listening what musicians want ... no body... specially with low budget... is going to buy a synth for 300 if they can get it for free... if Kilohearts was my company and a freaky guy like me was complaining and having ideas i would call him in and pay for great ideas.. not redirect to the forums. Thanks

@@gonzalodominguez229 The whole macro knob thing is kinda pointless, yes PhasePlant has only 8 macro knobs, which already is more btw than some synths have, but that aside. The whole power of PhasePlant is, is how it works together with Snapheap and Multipass, which both come with their own set of macro controls. So if you truly needed more, then you can have that option already. Next, better grids and snapping? I'm not sure what you mean by that. Grid sizes can be customized yourself and you can then snap to that grid, I don't see what should be different about that so maybe you could elaborate? Same for 'feedback numbers', without any context I can't even understand what you mean by that. Now you go on to say that they should open up to what individuals think, but that is exactly what they already do. I and many others have been testing these products long before they came out, and we still do to this day actually, we test every new update both big and small before it gets released. Next to that Kilohearts has their Discord server, which they use to communicate with both their testers and their customers, where you can share feature requests and bug reports, and from all of this, a lot of updates have already followed. So that's why I say, I don't think you have a strong argument there. The fact that your idea wasn't picked up yet, does not mean the idea isn't good or that it will never be implemented, it just means that there are other updates in the works which are more important. There is a long list of feature requests already that the team of Kilohearts works on and if enough people request a feature, then that says they should work on that. That's not ignoring a customer, that's just how software development works. Finally, the last part of your comment I just totally don't agree with, because the fact a different developer who released a free product you enjoy or think is good, has absolutely nothing to do with what you are complaining about on this video in the first place. Every company has its own choice of what to price a product just as much as a consumer can decide if they value it that much. Just because you think you have a great idea doesn't mean that idea is also great to them, so the hypothetical analogy that would impose they should actually hire you sounds like a joke to me, sorry.

its not poinless unless if you are closeminded or lack of imagination. I worked many years on a technique wich requires more than 8. Massive could do it by 2008.. but Massive X later removed the mapping option... interestingly that i got through this in a conversation with someone with much open ears. Will try to bring this and all other Ideas under the hood... obviouslly not Kilohearts.. in the meanwhile you can continue your marriage with tedious clickick and watch it happen

i can connect you to the FL Studio community.. if you are not already.. there like elsewhere too.. users pretty much used to map things via " last tweaked parameter" something also available in Pro tools, Logic, Cubase, Ableton and more.. So what you are suggesting is dismiss a request the not only would connect Phaseplant much better to any of Thousands of midi Keyboards out there... but also make INSTANT tweaking ANY parameter within the DAW!! something you only can do wirh 8 parameters right now.. and more than one year since requested!!! being able to Automate RIGHT away without using Macros is a must for any modern instrument! Anotherthing.. is the fact that if you work on purchased Preset Banks (wich thousends of users do) You find very often all macros already assigned... so than if you have an Idea you have no ACCESS to automation or midi mapping. I see from what you talk.. that you way of programming heavily differs from my... BUT ITS NOT ABOUT YOU or me.. its about Options!! intelligent open ones that is. I work in Television and am really really used to automate for underlyings and effs... do not bother me anymore be honest to the people and do not decide for them!! ask them!! make a survey!!! wouldnt it be great for Phaseplant to be able to Automate and Midi Learn ALL parameters? this is the question
