I’d say invest in a 2080 just so you know that you’ll get a few more years of life to your VR graphics. 1650 will definitely work, but may start to struggle in the upcoming years as VR really starts to hit its stride

If you focus another window (it could be literally anything other than the game itself) it'll be perfectly fine. The only drawback is you can't use spirit box or talk to the ghost. You can still talk in game though. My assumption is there's an issue with the mouse cursor being in the center of the game window (seems to only have an impact on performance with Oculus headsets)

There really isn't anything you'll be able to do to make it playable besides doing that...

So open phasmophohia thru the oculus link menu, not thru steam

Try putting it down to 90% see if that works. Also change in game resolution to a lower number. For the graphics, put them either to "half" or "quarter". Also turn off anti-aliasing if it's there. If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure what else to do.

@@Rhynosaucerous I tried all of those things and to no prevail. My PC specs are way more than enough to play. When I’m in the main lobby where it says play and training it is fine. No lag. Once I load into a map it lags everywhere. The truck in the house everywhere. Nowhere is safe. I put all my settings to the lowest they could be in game and it didn’t help. I’ll try lowering the steam VR resolution a little lower in hopes that it will help

Dang. Well hopefully you're able to figure it out. Sorry it's being super lame. Hopefully it gets optimized as it moves out of early access.

@@Sobek1776 this game runs well on some VR/PCs, others not for some reason. Just the way it is right now. I have spent around 5h so far trying to fix this since it was the main reason why i bought the Quest 2. Still bad FPS and ingame the game looks just super bad for me. I get sick after walking for 10 seconds. You can join the phasmophobia discord and check the vr troubleshooting channel. Didn't help me but maybe it helps you. Also wouldnt bet on VR performance improving in the future. This game is developed by 1 guy and VR is not a focus of the game.

@@dadosinister777 Sorry I didn't saw your comment back then! Sadly I wasn't able to fix it :C. I am not 100% sure about this, but I think it is an issue with my I7-8700k CPU because there are some weird spikes all few seconds visible in "fpsVR" and MS jumps extremely high for a second... this makes everything stutter for a short moment. In general it runs better after all the patches, but still painful to play like this.

If there is no option for it, I would assume it's not supported by what you are using, so I wouldn't worry about it. Or the advanced options are not enabled.

Its just super un-optimized, im having massive lag issues trying to play it recently, even with a 3070. Its also maxxing out 32 gigs of ram somehow

This issue could be a couple things. Thing 1: You may be bottle-necked by your CPU, unless you overclock it, it's not processing enough info. I would not recommend overclocking. Thing 2: The Occulus Quest 2 was made to run on it's own, so running it through your computer may cause some lag especially if you have the wrong cable and/or plugged into the wrong port. If you have no cable the wireless connection for it may not be that great.

@@Rhynosaucerous oh, ok. im not using the official link cable. the link cable im using is a vokoo branded cable. is says "USB C 3.2 Gen1 High Speed Data Transfer & Fast Charging Cable." Also when i play in games i usually get an average about 14-21 ms. The thing is with over clocking my cpu is basically me going to the oculus debug and setting it at 280. or going to steam vr and setting my resoulution to 2000, 2002. Or when i go to oculus, devices and setting it to 72 hertz. The game im usually playing is called phasmophobia and i have all the graphics set to it in low and still get 14-21 ms. if i put the graphics at max i get from 33-41. I was thinking of upgrading my rtx to a 3060 and my ram to 16 and my intel to an i7 11800h would make any difference?

Upgrading the hardware on your computer will usually make a difference. "ms" is the abbreviation for "millisecond" which is the delay you would have between pressing a button and an action in the game happening. But I get the feeling that you're talking about your "fps" which is the abbreviation for "frames per second". Also when you say that you set your resolution to "2000, 2002" that is not an actual resolution. Try lowering your resolution, and make sure that your "resolution scale" is no higher than 100%

That I wouldn't know. I don't have an oculus. But try both. Change steam, see if that works. If that does not work, put the setting back to what they were. Change occulus, if that still does not work, change both. But make sure that they both are set to the same resolution settings

@@mathhewmoonshine5469 processor (CPU) and RAM based on what you've provided. But you also need to make sure the motherboard is good enough to handle the new parts. On top of that you need a minimum 8GB of RAM. You'll also need a new power supply to make sure everything runs. 750W would be a good idea to run comfortably
