OK, I have 2 Phatmoto bikes. One is the Rover, just like yours, the other is the olive drab all terrain one. Since one of the roads I have to drive on, was all torn up, I mostly use the off road model. The brakes on both bikes are cable disc, and I replaced all 4 with hydraulic brakes. (Rotors remained, but everything else was changed.) I wouldn't run mechanical brakes on a commuter bike, but a friend told me, they will heat up on a long downhill run. I don't do long downhill runs. All four wheels need the spokes looked at, right out of the box. The return spring, on the motor, for the throttle, is so strong, I twisted the handle so hard, it broke loose from the metal part under the handlebar grip. Both springs are in my tool box, and will stay there. The actual throttle butterfly, driven by the throttle and governor linkage, reacts way too quickly. I lubed the whole top of the carb, with some spray-on white lithium grease. The grease buffers the action, making the throttle butterfly open less quickly. The kickstand on the 2020 Rover, is pretty much bulletproof! The kickstand on the 2021 all terrain, is complete CRAP! On the Rover, If I wanted to run the engine, with the back wheel off the ground, just lean it over, on the kickstand. Done that over 100 times, absolutely NO problems! Did it ONCE on the other bike, needed a new kickstand! I've replaced both seats with a Schwinn "noseless" seat. www.ebay.com/itm/353902608875?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item52663d41eb:g:sRgAAOSwdLdiEV4v&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAA8Nh38%2F6nzPCenNhTyXtAHppN9uAL%2BWK%2BMD23tAg5xbwkQAe14rnzQ5Wek5iflAQQdeSA8ki1yV9nq2Hq119lDQOkRGTXr%2F5hUPcHJokzh5rHa6aYtxerj5YqUOKbGhWQfspq4h8YVc5TGEMrsASYOQVH1rxaEB%2BPO9bv9taZ3VEHZjIrwxCVlJJpGAUGRb%2Fzgxf%2F5NXeQhjQ%2BgYCyJto3pR%2BwntqxiZJzg1FN9qivFGlGUzY1yN%2FtOr0gO6Tl8d23N%2BRXymn4zIas6W1zfhui1OdZEuOt9GukjAIl8LpnNkgUkG%2F89vGKDwxsTIBJVfmzg%3D%3D%7Ctkp%3ABFBMyPOoopJg If you are not pedaling all the time, you don't need the "nose" riding on your personal plumbing. steve

Great video. I want to get a phatmoto or build it myself but I want to walk in the mountains about 20 miles from my house and 5 uf that is up hills. I am trying to make up my mind on the phatmoto or build it myself using a 4 stroke engine thank you.

The bike is only $899 shipping included from gasbike! I upgraded the tires, sealed bearings in rims, and better chains. Mine runs great! Ziptie through governor spring and mine goes about 30 max. I weigh 275 and it pulls me up hills and all that just fine

I bought better pedals just for the sake of metal pedals and I've had no problems with anything else. I also put a 11 tooth sprocket on my clutch instead of 12 and it adds just a touch of torque to pull my fat self around. A better seat. I'm also 6 foot 5 and this bike is a good size for a taller person.

Does anyone know of anything new or used like this? I ideally want a gasoline powered dirt bike 4 stroke 49cc through 125cc motorcycle engine on a built up bicycle or motorcycle frame with bicycle pedals. Like the motoped or electric sur ron but I want a gasoline 4-stroke power. for

How is the chain tensioner on that? Is it welded to the frame? Also Having the jackshaft and rim with the drive sprocket as opposed to clamped to the spokes or hub seems like a big improvement over kit bikes!

Hey bro do you think i can install a 2 stroke on a road bike 29 inch wheels? The engine fits on the frame cause i measured it but idk if the wheel makes a difference to if it will fit on or not, i never installed an engine before lol. My bike is a 2011 trek bodega if you wanna search it up

Yeah I can definitely see that, most of my friends ride motorcycles though too so this isn't much for them. Can definitely be a little challenging for a new Rider though for sure! My girlfriend actually just got a e-bike so I'm hoping to introduce her to the motorized bike world as well, definitely a fun hobby!

That bike is as close as those without any mechanical know-how can get to a factory built motorized-bike, that's why it's hard for that particular know-nothing crowd too accept it's a pos, lol, the bad reviews is exactly why I don't own one today, and also the price is ridiculous for what it is, it's time to rotate the tires on that bike, don't ya think?, if ya get the chance to try some 10 or 11" ape-hanger handlebars, do it, me and a buddy who's over 6' tall have discovered that they are very comfortable for us tall guys, and they look pretty cool on a beach-cruiser too, good review Austin, thanks for sharing.

For a few hundred dollars more you can buy a Sikk Ped. No centrifugal clutch to lube, no cheap quality chains (3) to lube and try to keep adjusted, no cheap tires, no weak sub standard brakes, no weak, cheap, wobbily front forks, no hard cheap seat, no hunched over riding position, no cheap quality jack shaft bearings, no weak spokes, no weak axles and non existent greased hubs, okay you get the picture. What you get with the Sikk Ped is a strong steel frame, internal wet clutch, 1 - 420 quality chain, quality fat 26 x 4,0 tires, CNC billet hubs with sealed bearings, 11 gauge spokes, front and rear Tektro 203 mm hydraulic brakes. A 49 cc over head cam strong, smooth engine with an ignition switch and an electric start. A mid rise handlebar for upright riding position. No suspension fork, but a strong triple tree (clamp) fork. My top speed is 39 MPH, I weigh 205 lbs.

@@twowheeledadventures It is a better bike than the Phatmoto, just by virtue of better quality build parts. It is more of a moped than a "motorized bike". The engine is a Lifan which is a quality clone of the original Honda OHC engine from the late 60's. The engine was originally designed for a small motorcycle, so its a better overall choice to power a bike than a vertical OHV industrial engine designed to power a piece of equipment. Its very reliable, you should consider it. I'm thinking of another one to "hot rod" with a bolt in 110 cc or a 125 cc engine.
