Whats point of having a 5 lane road, and then have 3.5 lanes being not utilized , as 3.5 lanes are filled in by people standing on road , and by foot stalls and parked vehicle, and by jeepneys that simply stop in middle of road, to pick up passengers. The 5 lane road become a 1.5 lane road, causing very slow traffic, and resulting in a 1 km road taking 3 hours to drive through

The real Manila. More character and excitement over the sterile, bland, boring malls there.

Ngek. Dirty people prefer dirty places. Malls are more popular for Filipinos. If the government only does its job, this place will be much cleaner. 😊

@@JoeyZee-vs4kr There's some truth to that. If your government took better care of parks, infrastructure, rivers, etc then malls wouldn't be the only form of pleasure Filipinos depend on. I live in the US where malls are old and a lot are dead but because we have a lot of other places to go for pleasure we don't care. Amazon is also cheaper than the mall and we shop online. We also have theme parks, national parks, trails, beaches, lakes, vibrant cities, skiing, snowboarding, biking, cross country trips, camping etc for recreation.

@@thebibleisanalternativetot181 good insight you've presented. But the reasons why Filipinos love mall are: 1. It's cooler there compared to outside. Philippines is a tropic country. 2. There are lots of restaurants and kiosks that you can choose from local food to international food variety. 3. Malls in the Philippines has lots of movie houses and there are still many who prefer giant screens or IMAX. 4. Groceries sell everything. I think mall groceries in the Philippines are 4 to 5 times bigger. 5. Arcades which many children love to go bringing their parents with them. 6. Sports like bowling alleys, sometimes even archery and skating rinks and some have little theme parks like roller coaster. Malls in the Philippines compete with each other so they only improve over time. Lots of renovations happening recently because nobody wants to become obsolete. Although there are online shopping companies available in Philippines, it did not affect the overall appeal of malls in the Philippines. You would also notice that condo buildings and hotels nowadays are built side by side with malls. I think Filipinos were the first to adapt to malling as a leisure place and the rest of the world just copied it. 😊

@@JoeyZee-vs4kr It's kinda sad how people depend on these places as their only form of pleasure. Florida is tropical and is hot most of the year. But they have beaches, resorts, and the massive theme parks. If in Manila the bay was clean and the resorts didn't only cater to the 1% there.

95 % of filipino women dress up exactly like men, in tee shirts and long pants/jeans, so women look just like men, except that women usually have longer hair

There's nothing pretty about this. The place is chaotic and dirty. Foreigners avoid this place and me also. 😊

I`d say the place is hopeless across the board. The despair can clearly be felt
@JoeyZee-vs4kr10 күн бұрын
@@TommyHoff that's just the dirty part of Manila. Google BGC, Makati, Filinvest city, Aseana city, Eastwood city etc. They are cleaner and prettier than any western city. 😊
