Ringneck pheasants are part of my childhood. They were always right down the road. I assume that pheasants are an example of a successful/non-destructive introduced species. Thanks for an informative video.

In the winter we use to put dried corn in the backyard to attract pheasants. Of course the cheeky crows would fly down, pull at their tail feathers and then eat the corn. What's interesting is how they will avoid flying; I've witnessed many pheasants when I'm driving reverse course on a road but not take flight.

Cheeky crows 😹 but yeah they seem to be the turkeys where we live, they more often run than fly

I first learned about this animal from a certain card in Yugioh's Watt archetype. For those who don't know. The level 4 monsters in that archetype can attack directly and have effects that go off if they inflict damage. Wattpheasant banishes a monster until the end phase. Making it capable of stripping an XYZ monster of any materials on it.

I was building a watt deck for a bit but ended on crystal beasts instead. The recent support they just got has been a blessing 😻 Watts have some AWESOME card art tho!

Lovely plumage. I think it happened by association, because whenever you thank Dad & SpikeSpiegel93, that's when the image of the white cat appears: so now in my mind the cat is Spike Spiegel (Yes I know Cowboy BeeBop). What is the cats name? You have probably mentioned it before, and I missed it or ignored it possibly.

The pheasant at 1:48 looks like it's tethered to the ground. Is it being used to bait others for hunting?

Honestly I have no idea. You'd have to look into the original videos which are all linked in the credits. If it is, I didn't notice while editing unfortunately

The ring-necked pheasant is actually the state bird of South Dakota! Also, during the time of Teddy Roosevelt, if a rich family was giving a dinner party and someone important was there, they would serve pheasant meat (or duck meat or pigeon meat) at the same time as the salad.

always waiting for the highlight explanation that male are colorful to attract mate, while female are dull in color, for camouflage because they incubate the egg and takes care of the chicks on the ground
