17:22 - Conclusion
Hey guys, today we are going to look at the mysterious Angkor Wat Temple in Cambodia, which has many strange secrets hidden inside. Historians say it was built about 900 years ago with simple tools , but by the end of this video, I think you will agree with me that this is not true at all.
You may have already known that this is the largest religious monument in the world, but how big is this temple? The temple stretches more than 400 acres, that is more than three times the size of the entire Vatican city, or about 300 times the size of an American football field. So you can imagine the size of this temple. Even if we take out all the walking space and empty land, the sheer area covered by stone blocks is at least 10 Million Square Feet. And we are not looking at just a 2 dimensional ground area, we have to look at the volume in 3D because it is made of layers and layers of stone blocks, pillars, ceiling, and towers. The Iconic central towers in the middle, which almost look like drill bits, they are still the tallest structures in this city, even after all these years. The central tower is 213 feet tall, and this view is actually printed on the Flag of Cambodia.
So imagine what would be the sheer volume of rocks needed to build a temple which stretches for 10 million square feet and has a pyramidal height of more than 200 feet. If we calculate the weight of all the sandstone blocks which make up this pyramid, we get about 52 Million tons of rock. I have used a calculator to calculate this weight, using the density of sandstone. Now, we have already not included the rocks in the foundation, we have not included the millions of stone blocks going many feet deep in the moat, and the rocks placed around the moat. And that is already 52 Million tons of rock. Now what I am going to do is take only 20% of this number, so this way we know this is a very very conservative estimate, because Angkor Wat is not a true solid pyramid, there are lots of hollow spaces in between. Let us actually take even less than 20%, we will only take 10,000,000 tons. So this way we know at least this much of rocks would have been used to build the temple.
Okay, so why are we calculating the weight of the stone blocks in this temple? Because, archeologists and historians argue that the entire temple was built in just 37 years. You know the standard theory, people using chisels and hammers to build temples.
Now let us assume that these people worked from sunrise to sunset everyday for 37 years. So they worked straight for 12 hours with no breaks, they don't eat, they don't even blink, and no rainy days, no war, no festivals for 37 years. That is a total of 162,060 hours. So if you do the math, if you divide the amount of rocks by the number of hours, this is the answer we get, approximately 60 tons. This means that they would have to cut and place at least 60 tons of rock every hour. This is 1 Ton of rock every minute. So for every minute they have to measure, cut, carve, lift, place and align one ton of rock. This is simply IMPOSSIBLE. We cannot accomplish this even today, even with modern machinery, we have not yet developed the technology to cut, position and polish one ton of rock of every minute. That is more than 2000 pounds of rock every minute, or 1000 kilograms every minute.

@me kong thanks for your comment. Angkor Wat is located in Siem Reap city which means "Defeat of Siam" (Siam or Siem in khmer language is the ancient name of thai people). No matter the haters, we are all from South East Asia, historically brothers and sisters. We have a sad story with the Khmer Rouge , the communist political party responsible of the genocide (75-79). I'm happy to learn more about our ancient history, our hindu ancesters. The work of @PraveenMohan is precious ! That makes me more proud to be khmer and simply just a citizen of this world ! This temple maybe at least 5000 years old, as usual western historians back date anything and everything which is Indian. I've seen a lot of 1000 year old temples here in South India, and in no way, is Angkor Wat 900 years old. I wouldn't be surprised if they finally prove it to be 9,000 years old. I was in Angkor Wat a few weeks ago. As an engineer and fan of the idea of ancient lost technologies there is so much to see here. One more thing to add to this video is the randomly shaped stones which still seamlessly fit in the foundation of the structure. I asked my guide about it and he wasn't to sure about how. He said the elders told him that the builders put the stones in place with bamboo sticks they put in holes on top of the stones, which are visable, but not on every stone. Also my guide told me that Angkor Wat is build on a hill of dirt. First they put a baselayer of vulcanic rocks on the hill (these are visible in the complex where stones are missing, they look like the stones of the stupa in the video), after that they put on the shaped limestone. They build the temple from the top down basically. This is ofc still very impressive and is worth a lot of engineering questions. On the quarrying my guide mentioned that they moved the stones with bamboo rafts, but not on top, but on the bottom. The stone would be underneath the water. Great video, great place. Visit it if u are able to!

@@RealPraveenMohan It's clear and evident that quality of engineering of the historians was a way more superior than the latter one's. And the in video it's clear that historians might have had impeccable skills of engineering than the latter. Or either they are not just originated or came from elsewhere to Ankor Watt (place) As per my understandings MahaBali along with Maya (Demon Architect) and with few people were accompanied by the king. The demon king and was a devotee of Lord Vishnu who was made the king of Sutala loka i.e. (Thailand & Indonesia region) by Lord Vishnu himself in the form of Vamana which was his 5th incarnation of Lord Vishnu which was more prior to the Avatar of Budha i.e. (9th incarnation of Lord Vishnu) I see there is change in Yuga's itself and not even in centuries or Thousands of years. This is the only thing which is popping up after seeing the difference between the architectural styles, if I'm not wrong there must be other proofs of existence apart from their Constructions as well which if digged up further might be disclosed. Which the Country of Combodia must focus on which will increase their Tourism as well. It's great to see many people admiring Khmer Architecture. These structures were no doubt built by the the Khmer Empire civilization who had ruled most of South East Asia at one point. Although there are some hindu influences, the Khmer architecture and culture are very unique in their own styles within these region. All these temples had Khmer letters and symbols inscribed on them, hence you can see similar alphabet still in use today by the Cambodian people.

What I find even more amazing: 1. To find the perfect location where the ground that the temple is built on is solid enough and able to support the tremendous weight of the structure without sinking. 2. The years it took just to mentally visualise and then to design the structures on paper by the top architects. 3. To find enough qualified people able to read the blueprints and instruct the workers( that never built such a structure before) what and how to assemble pieces arriving on site. 4. The logistics of not only housing but also feeding the masses on such a grand scale. Where did all the food come from? 5. If slaves were used to carry out the heavy lifting then you would also need an army of soldiers stationed not only at the quarry but all along the 50 mile long road and on the job site itself to prevent escapes. 6. People both skilled and unskilled continuously died and had to be replaced. From where? 7. With all the people on the sites garbage would have piled up. Has evidence been found? There are so many more questions but there are too many to be listed

For point 1 they actually did something even more impressive than that. The ground there cannot support the weight of the temple. It would have sunk and collapsed by now if not for the moat. The weight of the water pressing down in the moat creates an upward pressure on the island which allows the ground to support the weight of the temple.

It is Christian historians who have been (mis)leading academia throughout the 17th to 21st century. Due to the bible saying the world was created 6000 years ago, they simply cannot have any history before that time period. Although now the influence of the church has waned, accepted theories still mostly do not deviate from the biblically acceptable timeline.

@redglare your argument is well taken. Mathematical calculations some times are miss leading. 12000 worker could not have been working or employed at the sight. But with different stages could have been more, some times less. Rains, floods, feminine and other disruptions might have occurred in a long period of time. The most important would have been, peace and prosperity of the region, regime. Would like to get comments and feedback from studied students in this field.

Sir, you have blown my mind with this video! Excellent work. Your points are valid - I have always thought this about Angkor Watt. It is definitely older and belongs to another civilisation. It may have taken many centuries to build with primitive tools and a lot of skill, but it is on par with the Pyramids of Egypt in significance and the solar and celestial knowledge of this civilisation is incredible for its time. This leads me to believe they may have had advanced technology to achieve this. The roots of Hinduism are truly ancient and perhaps were more than a religion to begin with and more of a system of knowledge and tradition. We know the Indus valley civilisation predates Mesopotamia and ancient Sumer and is perhaps on par with pre dynastic Egypt or older. There is also evidence that the Indian ocean was home to a sunken continent and advanced maritime civilisation, because more and more archaeology is coming up around the sea. Perhaps these two are connected as Cambodia has always been known as a bridge between Far Eastern and Indian culture. It may even have been the original, who can say. The link between India and Egypt is mainstream knowledge as the river Nile has always been the active trade route between India and the Mediterranean sea and Atlantic ocean, which is what made Egypt so wealthy btw. I asked a Vietnamese teacher about Angkor Watt and she said that what is beneath the temple is the reason for its construction, perhaps to preserve something. The land is marshy there so it is hard to believe but it may well be the case. Cambodian civilisation has definitely been hushed over by western science and history so it is really up to local academics to spread the word. It was known about as some British and American writers have used the idea of Angkor Watt to write science fiction novels in the early XX century.

@renoivanov9824 By his statement "The Angkor would have taken centuries to be built by primitive tools", he meant that the Mandir was not built by some primitive tools instead by some advanced tools and technology. It's evident in many Mandirs in India that they had some Rock Softening technology.

Did u get to see it in sundown, even more amazing. If you beat your chest in the hallways you can hear it all the way down the other end, that how guards alerted each other. Its a shame that's it been looted and many statues and gems that were embedded in the walls were stolen. They also did so much damage when trying to fix it using chemicals that corroded the engravings and stones, wars and now tourists walking and climbing all over the place is wearing out the structures. Thailand and Vietnam have also been trying to claim Angkor and even teach false things to the next genration

Only licenced Cambodian tour guides are officially allowed to be your guides inside the complex at least these days, but there is little they can do if you go with a local "friend", who is of course doing it purely from the kindness of their heart. And guards monitoring the situation might not be so sharp-eyed if they get a small donation towards the education of their children. Of course it is perfectly feasible that the ex-monk has got the training to become an official guide; I guess many of the locals have learned Angkor's history from booklets and guides telling the stories to tourists.

We visited Angkor Watt temple in 2018, and were amazed to see the Hindu Mythology presented everywhere, in the Temple there was a huge beautiful statue of Lord Vishnu , next to Him Mother Lakshmi’s statue , head was cut off, and from neck down it was also a very beautiful statue, could imagine how beautiful the face was , the guide told us that during communists regime the people in power sold these beautiful statues in the West for money , the sculptures of Samudra monthan, Devatas on one side and Asuras on the other side with Vasuki five headed snake in their hands , Today learnt the true history of Angkor Watt Temple . Please publish a book with all your discoveries of old temples for knowledge of true history of our great ancestors. Thanks a millions Praveenji for your hard research work . God bless you 🙏

11:16 In Hinduism we count Rahu, Ketu and Chandra as well, as part of the navagrahas - may be that explains the 9 grahas. Also graha doesnt mean planet (as in the English word) it means seizing, holding, catching, - so all bodies in the solar system play that role (through gravitation) due to which the solar system stays the way it does. They also “hold” “seize” us by influencing our destinies and lives.

That means it took centuries to complete. We were told that it started with Javaraman I, the II...until Javarnan VII. The ancient building were much older than the historian estimated. I’ve spent 7 days in the temple complex. Amazing, breathtaking, rich in history and culture, and full of engineering marvels. I could have spent 7 days just photographing the reliefs on the walls of one of the temples. And the Khmer people are the nicest people I’ve met in the world. The sandstone is a facade - what you don’t see is the rock behind it, which is among some of the strongest in the world. The secrets lies in the foundations of the structure - think light, incredibly strong, and unconventional. Siam/Khmer was a vast and highly educated culture and, to this day, remains a centurion if not millennium culture. Vast knowledge was lost during Khmer Rouge, thanks to Communism. Aknkor, and the Khmer people, are older than 900 years. To see the light of the Khmer people, one must alter their habitual paradigm(s) to see the truth. The technology isn’t impossible, the lens by which we make a determination is.

Brilliant video! I have been to Angkor Wat myself and it is obvious that the work took centuries from beginning to end. It seems to me that some radical change occurred between the original occupants and the last residents of the city-temple. Religious wise, I guess the area may have been used by other people not of hindu origin, but that is only my personal guess, just like the way the stones were moved in. What cannot be argued, though, is the fact that it is a magnificent structure and I am glad it is still there. I heard the towers were once covered by gold and sometimes wonder at how it must have looked then... Great job! I'm glad I got to see this today!

Please refrain from prejudice, use reason and evidence to find out the truth.❣ There are probably many people in this world who want to know. The story of the ancient world, the truth is greater than fiction. Thailand (Siam) give orders to build the wonders of the world called Angkor Wat.yougotthis Cambodian people are just tribesmen who sell labor to build Angkor Wat.🤔 If you search, you will find many evidence such as ancient inscriptions. Either in China, Burma or Vietnam, leading to the belief that Siam is the real owner of Angkor Wat. The Khmers are not the real owners of Angkor Wat. Suryavarman II came from Siam. Evidence from stone carvings indicates that great kings such as Suryavarman II came from Thailand's Lopburi province. King Jayavarman V traveled from Phimai in Thailand. The Kingdom of Siam predates the Angkor Wat era.☺ For example, the name of the Kingdom of Lawo. Dvaravati Kingdom All of these were established by Siam. Lawo Kingdom located in the area of Lopburi Province on the land of Thailand at present Lawo people speak Thai words ancient Thai language🧐 If there is information to discuss, there should be an on-stage debate.Must have representatives from many countries came to listen as witnesses and judges such as Indians, the origin of civilization There are various evidences of Siam to explain to humans to discover the truth. and unanimously summarized Angkor Wat data because truth is truth💯👀

Marvelous structure.... This temple could have been built on a mountain rock, similar in lines with that of Khajuraho/ Ellora, Ajantha.... with the exception, that the remaining parts of the mountain could have been flattened to ensure commutability for the devotees and the tourist / well wishers in the long run. Carbon dating can perhaps solve the doubts on various aspects related to this mammoth structure. 😊

I would like to know what records actually exist in the British archives from when they had colonies set up (other countries too, as well as the Vatican), but I suppose these are locked away in a hidden archive, or destroyed now. Meticulous records where taken 200+yrs ago, especially when companies like East India Trading Company were moving around the world to see where they could loot next, sorry I mean "trade". Even before this time, the last recorded 2000+ years has been written by mostly Christian scholars (at least that's what comes to the surface) which in my opinion paints a particular narrative, we are made to believe that nothing other than the coming of Christ saved the world. I suppose the world was an uncivilised place prior to this, and only the Christian faith has brought order? The history we are taught is the narrative from the people who wanted to rule the world, and have done so successfully in recent times. There is a greater order out there, this is for sure, especially after seeing the grand scale of this temple complex... It is embarrassing for our current generations to not even understand the complexity and building methods that were used all those years ago... I haven't seen such ancient structures in Britain. Those that are listed as the oldest buildings date within the history of the Bible. Then you have Stonehenge... Not making direct comparisons, but these are some massive stones, not nearly as artfully arranged as anything from around the world in the same time period. I do however believe some significance behind Stonehenge, but not what we are taught. People escape from the facts. I am just pointing out opinions I have formed, they are more questions to be fair. I am not saying any faith has claim or is greater. Having access to more knowledge and information would be amazing. However I know we will never know the real truths, as this will be buried deep underground and never see the light of day, as the reality is the truth will undermine humanities entire history. I would love to have a chat with you over coffee Praveen, give me a shout if you're in London ever.

If you look at the major sites around the world, I do not believe that humans built them. Maybe humans helped with the manpower, but the megalithic sites and others like the constructed islands made of columnar basalt just cannot be done by humans. Quality of workmanship is one thing, but transportation of materials from miles away is impossible for humans! There are just too many sites all over the earth that we humans cannot build, there had to be off planet technology.

Khmer was not small etc - it was as big as India. Since it was all one. This must be many centuries early. Later jealous people came - and divided everybody into groups etc - made people to fight with each other. We should learn from history. Wherever there are good things, bad people will try to take it. I believe this current science is a subset of much bigger and complex science which is beyond our understanding. Just like fishes cannot comprehend life in space we too have limitations to what we can understand or apply logic. These structures defies current human logics and mathematics.
