I took it after vsg for about 3 weeks combined with intermittent fasting. I had the most energy! It was almost crack head like. I drank water and coffee until noon. Some days for lunch i would go run and workout because i had so much energy. It helped me get to my lowest weight of 164. I was able to go to sleep at night only because i burned that extra energy off with exercise. I want to get back on it, but you’re right it is counterproductive to our protein and nutrient intake.

I’m currently on the pill 💊 and you can’t have caffeine it will cause your heart to feel like it’s gonna explode and walking in the evening for about 30 minutes - 1 hour helps with sleep and moods.

I look phentermine with metformin during the summer and dropped like 60 lbs. I have bipolar and went manic though. Couldn’t sleep. Always felt thirsty. Messed up my heart too.

Omg!!! Bloss, I took Phentermine off and on I promise you for at least 20 years....prior to weight loss surgery.....mind you I am 48. You hit the nail on the head with the hot flashes, mood swings such as depression, dry mouth and sleep deprivation. I took them prior to VSG so I was skeptical post Vsg. I am almost 2 years post VSG and I want lose 10lbs as my lowest weight post surgery was 154 and highest pre surgery was 250 and I am currently 166. I want to get 10lbs off and I was considering a weight loss supplement again but thanks for this video because you reminded why I don't need to do the phentermine again. Oh yeah BTW I noticed when I would take phentermine I regain all the weight back plus some.

It’s like medical meth. It makes your heart race, feel hot, thirsty but not hungry, manic, no sleep. They just take out that high feeling.

Thanks for being so transparent. I’ve taken this pill years prior to having VSG; I had palpitations. With that being said; I stop taking it ASAP and will never take it again.

I figured out how to use it first of all you got to eat no matter what you might not be hungry but if you don't eat your body will lack nutrition..use vitamin gummies will help try to eat six small meals a day force yourself to eat drink plenty of water stay away from caffeine,.....I'm doing the keto diet wow I'm taking this medicine and I don't feel as bad as I used to feel back then

I’m 49, medicated for depression and had VSG AUGUST 2018. Highest weight 286, Surgery weight 256 still at 231. Goal is 160ish. Day 3 of 15mg Phentermine and I have more energy and motivation so it’s working great for me. I do have dry mouth but not too bad since I already drink over a gallon a day. No HR or hot flash issues thank goodness. I take before 8 am and sleep good. I need something beyond the high protein diet, 4x weekly workout & daily 2+ mile walks....weight is just not coming off and I’ve worked hard this past year. Sounds like something different would be better for you but I’m thinking it may work for me.

It’s a short term weight loss supplement and most ppl gain the weight right back! It’s pretty much a perception meth...

That pill made me super depressed. I have taken several times before surgery. It was making me crazy. I will never take that pill again.

So I’m not on phentermine, however I am on topiramate or Topimax...I had VSG April of 2018 so we are close to the same amount of post-op time...honestly the topiramate is much milder than the phentermine and has the opposite side effects..you have to start off taking it at night because you will just be foggy. I lost weight in the beginning but now it’s really just keeping me from bariatric binging when my period is coming.

So, I've been on it since April, I took my last one today. the only side effect I had was dry/ cotton mouf...mouth was like the damn 🏜 , the Sahara one at that. I will say, my doctor started me on the lowest dose 15mg to monitor the side effects, on my one year anniversary cuz I was so down due to me not being even near goal. it did absolutely nothing for me, But I stuck with it. next month, he upped the dosage to 30mg and of course same results. I convinced him to try again, but this time he added Topamax 50mg it kinda worked but with my reflux and not being able to eat much I'm not losing a lot. I decided to skip weekends which had helped tremendously and i started losing again to the tune of 12lbs this last month. he was so happy yesterday when I followed up with him. I decided with what's going on with my revision, I wasn't going to ask for a refill, hopefully I don't regain.

Thank you for your honesty. I'm almost 2 yrs post op and my sugar and salt intake is insane. I'm going to work harder on my intake and see what happens before trying and diet pills. Be bless

I take an antidepressant and mood stabilizer for bipolar and phentermine made me crazy raging angry

I’ve been taking Phentermine on & off for a few yrs. I mainly take a half. 1 whole pill does the opposite, it gives me Anxiety. Like really bad. Unless I monitor closely that i have eaten “on time”. I’ve never had VSG & I think total i’ve lost close to 40 lbs w/it.

I had weight loss surgery got down to 122, I felt great at 127 and maintained that almost a year. Last month I gained to 133, BUT in the worst looking way, rolls and rolls. bad strong appetite, eating 24/7. hoping they will give it to me bc i see this being the beginning of that slippery slope of weight gain.

I use to take Phentermine and it was great but when I stop OMG I gain way way more weight than ever and i just could not stop eating... also it became use to my system and came to a point where it did not work no more... I will not recommend to no one but to each it own. I literally regret taking it I was 240 now am 290. People might not believe me but try at your own also I know everyone body system is different so...

Honestly I took Phetermime years ago And I lost weight however I just tried it recently and I think it’s way more harsh than it used to be. Granted I am five years older now so maybe my age has something to do with it but I did not have the VSG surgery as of yet and I agree with everything you said about the pill but I’m not sure that the VSG surgery is the reason why it affected you more now. I took phentermine a couple days ago because I’m trying to lose weight before my VSG surgery and something stupid happened that upset me but it wasn’t that serious and I literally obsessed about it all day long and it made me so mad and not only could I not sleep with the Phetermine but I was actually tired and couldn’t sleep. I think it’s one thing to not be able to sleep and be Wide-awake, but that was not the case for me as I wanted to sleep and couldn’t.So yes I agree with everything you said but I wouldn’t necessarily make it that the surgery has anything to do with it.

My sisters and I took that medication and they do alter your mood we would call them zombies

I haven't had vsg but I got phentermine from a weight loss clinic I had insomnia I would forget to eat I was faint and had heart palpitations and headaches. I didn't like it. I did lose 30lbs but don't think it was worth it

I Too am on Phentermine and Topiramate after a year-and-a-half after rn.y surgery I've lost 21 pounds since taking those pills and I'm stuck again. And yes it does change your mood for me it makes me more irritable and if you take it too late in the morning at affects your sleeping for later so I take it super early in the morning and yes you have to drink a lot of water which we have two already and yes it makes you so you're not hungry all day which is not good but I still if I don't want to eat I'll do a protein shake but it's just a form of speed is what it is this is not as strong and my doctor added Topiramate which is used along with the fencer Man 2 help curb your appetite even more and yes I'm still taking it it's been like 4 months but I'm kind of stuck at a certain weight which I need to lose like 40 more

I’m confused. Isn’t the vsg enough to help you lose weight without needing other help such as pills to lose weight?

It gave me a sharp pain in my stomach. Its scary.

This pill is terrible and I wish they would take it off the market... it made my heart race, caused insomnia, and terrible headaches. It also affected mood. I am post VSG (June 2018) and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone honestly.

I was on this med during march and April of this year i lost 15 pounds but i gain all my weight back now the reason why i stop is because my chest was in so much pain shortness of breath was crazy but over all the pill is ok for whoever likes it

Has anyone else not been able to get a hold of their patient advocate during the process? I just finished my last visit and completed all requirements, but haven't heard from my advocate nor if I know she received everything because her number goes straight to voice-mail and she doesn't return calls. Im wondering if I should have my files transferred somewhere else.

Hello I have 6 months before have VSG Surgery

Anybody here took half of the pill? My Dr. just prescribed them to me and said only take half....I took them years ago (whole pill) and stopped because I didn’t like the way my heart felt...the racing was unbearable!
