How is it this price? Shockingly, the build quality on this guitar is unreal and the guitar is under £200. Fair play for making Eastcoast Les Paul style guitar without a bolt on neck too!
This is the Eastcoast L1 in Blue Burst. It's £199 from Andertons and Guitar Guitar! A shocking amount of instrument. Obviously it's based on a Les Paul and has two ceramic humbuckers.
With a 24.75" scale length, 22 medium jumbo frets and weighin in at 3.8kg (8.3 lbs) it's almost the same weight as my full fat Gibson Les Paul standard and feels an awful lot like it.
The flamed maple veneer is truly stunning and looks far better than teh Epiphone blue burst we've previously reviewed.

Eastcoast are owned by a group of guitar shop owners including lee A, and the development of which are lead by Lee A’s initiative. It’s like a buyers group to share the cost of manufacture and thus shareholders in that group can stock eastcoast. So it’s a house brand of a few stores yes.

I've got the goldtop version. When I changed the strings I polished the fret wires as they were a bit scratchy, gave the fretboard a good oil as it was dry and dressed the fret edges and its as good as any guitar. The pickups are great. I havent had any problems with the tuners, even hanging the guitar from the headstock on the wall. Better than the Epiphone Les Paul Studio I had briefly.

Lee Anderton has some business involvement with Eastcoast (as well as Victory amps) from what I've heard

Wow you’re a real life Batman, worlds greatest detective 🕵️ you just failed to notice Eastcoast is in a bunch of of other shops. It’s a collective purchasing group with Anderton’s is part of 😂

not bad for a budget les paul that you can gig without worring about someone stealing it because its not a real gibson or a epiphone

The Harley Benton headstock is really similar to the Yamaha headstocks

Check out the cort headstocks. It’s almost a perfect match to Harley Benton’s. The lp style ones.

I was about to tell you guys that pickguards fundamentally enhance the tone of Les Pauls. At which point you'd be able to tell straight away that I am in fact a drummer, not a guitarist, and therefore somewhat susceptible to April Fools stories! :)
