The BBC would kill to have scriptwriters who have the skills to write dialogue even 5% as good as that these days. We the viewing public would kill for EastEnders in general to be as good as this today. This is television at its best. Shame I was only three when this storyline was on, but my parents and sister watched it at the time.

This is seriously impressive acting, for EastEnders standards. There's been a dip in form lately, hopefully the Peggy storyline brings some drama and decent acting back to the show

grant was trained in the army and phil sort of learned some of his moves and the fact that grant was a big bloke with an extremely large temper meant he take any one down he lifted phil off the ground here threw him around the arches and he also lifted dennis and slammed him on a piano and took on more than 5 police so phil, derek, dan, dennis, jack, sean could never beat him he was absolute psycho

I Remember Years Ago Reading In The Newspaper Ross Kemp Struggled At First To Go Through The Filming Of These Scenes Due To Losing His Grandfather In Real Life and That The Tears Were Real From Him Thinking Of His Grandfather. You Could Tell Those Tears Were Real and Steve McFadden Probably Thought They Were Part Of The Make Up For The Scene

Phil showing his grasp of emotions by thinking that taking a beating from his 'bruv' would ease the heartbreak he caused Grant...the trust totally ruined, the bond between them shredded, the ultimate betrayal from the 2 people he loved, every time he saw either of them he'd have that little voice in his head "Remember what he/she did?" The reality is that given Grants character and backstory, he probably would have killed 1 or both of them

Grant was part of the double act, the brawn to phils brains,, when he left phil became both and it simply dont work. I understand they had to alter phils character after grant left but it he never truly felt right once grant left.

I could rewrite this show The Mitchell's - Get Phil a transplant and make him a proper top East End Boss with guys around him working for him at least a quarter of the cast being tough as nails for example bring back Jake Moon to work for Phil and Ryan as well and with Billy as reluctant to work for Phil but does it to make ends meet, Sharron's story should be her can't live with Phil can't live without him as it is now Keep Ian Beale I guess but make him Phil's ally in less shady business interests Carters run the pub but shrink the family a bit and make Mick a bit like Alfie and Frank Butcher Bring married couple characters like Janine and Michael who are ruthless business people but are secretly swingers Bring in a Chinese family to run a takeaway, keep the Hubbard/Fox clan and eventually bring back Masood to represent multi-cultural community

If you get the chance watch Ross Kemp in a version of Scrooge with Angelina Bell. He is amazing in that too. His acting gave me so much inspiration to continue . Wonderful, brutal and expressive.. love you Ross

How his this the same show thats on are tv's five nights a week that no one watches? this was awesome now the viewing figures are in their minuses not a single person in the entire country watches it any more its that shite. What happened to go from this to whatever it is these days its that bad that if they decided to pull the plug tomorrow no one would even bat n eye lid now how bads that lol. But back then mid to late 90's this episode early 90's were just awesome carnt even remember the last time I watched it. Theirs rumours their bringing ross kemp back to reunite the mitchell brothers and has great as they are together I carnt even see him being able to bring the viewers in well see shame though........
