@martinkuliza
@martinkuliza 3 жыл бұрын
he's singing is not VERY WELL, as you described it watch, i'll point it out for you 0:58 to 1:07 he sings fine now at 1:07 you can see that he struggles a little to hit that upper note now we move to this... 1:30 take a bottle on the word "bottle" hes' supposed to go HIGHER instead he goes lower to ease the tension on his voice 1:33 shake it up... this is fine.. nothing wrong here break a bubble ... is fine then 1:37 break it up again.. should be going UP but he's going down but then again.. he's not the lead vocal, so.... yeah and this is why he's backup vocals and he does his part in the harmony and he does his part well.. fair enough i'm just saying, he doesn't have an amazing voice he has a pretty good voice and it's been conditioned over 30 years, that's fair enough but i wouldn't put him in the category of Joe elliott for example
@philipkarovski281
@philipkarovski281 3 жыл бұрын
@@martinkuliza bro the original recording of the song is mostly Phil he's all the background vocals which in this particular song is more important than the lead, and why would he sing like he does live in a demonstration video where he breaks down the guitar part...
@martinkuliza
@martinkuliza 3 жыл бұрын
@@philipkarovski281 ok... I understand but.. it sounds like you're making excuses for him. so.. why would he sing like he does live, in demo ? Out of habit, if you sang a song for decades, you're going to sing it the way you sing it trust me, I've had singing lessons for around 3 years now, I've been singing metalica nothing else matters for 3 years now. if someone asks me to explain something about singing i'll sing a part of that song and i iwon't sing it half arsed, i'll sing it properly , EVEN THOUGH I COULD DO IT IN A DIFFERENT WAY TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR ME, the reason you do it is out of habit also.. i can tell what his voice is like by listening to it so..what you're saying doesn't change that so things like the original of the song is mostly him OK.. but he still sounds how he sounds and i can hear what he is capable of and what he's not he even said that they tune down half a step because they wouldn't be able to pull the song off in normal tuning facts are facts dude i know what you're saying and i respect it, but i can also hear what he's actually doing
@philipkarovski281
@philipkarovski281 3 жыл бұрын
@@martinkuliza yeah I agree about the half step thing but that comes with age. Maybe I think differently but I also have been singing and playing for about 5 years now and when I play shows I sing how I would normally sing and when I play to show something to someone I usually hold back on the high notes as to save my voice, so I nust assume he does that as well cause they play a show every 4 days I think. But that's just my two cents 😄
@martinkuliza
@martinkuliza 3 жыл бұрын
@@philipkarovski281 ok.. fair enough if you've been singing for 5 years I've been singing for around 3 years or so look.. Point 1 - Re the half step down dont' you think ..... and also given that hes' not the lead vocalist either. but.. don't you think his voice would get better and stretch with age ? Point 2. Yeah.. i understand what you're saying about holding back. Look.... maybe, Maybe you're right in saying that another theory i have is... maybe he goes low on the end of the sentence when the lead vocals goes high, Just to give it that High and Low end in the combined sound i'm not ragging on the guy also i was just saying to the other poster who said that he sang so well LOL well.. clearly me and you can hear the difference between a very very well proficient singer and Phil i'm not saying he's shit.... Credit where it's due, he's got decent control but he's not hitting the high notes, if anything he's avoiding them but again.. in his defence.. he's not the lead singer but yeah. that's my 2 cents

If a guitar player of his calibre lets you see their fretboard on camera while giving a little advice on key, muted techniques etc....it's a lesson your not seeing. Take it in👍 and a tip for beginners, use the KZfaq speed adjustment. Have fun.

And I’ll just add, there is an E chord used in this song that is on the album, and it’s kinda hard to make. It comes after the single note on the G string alternating between fret 6&7 and he does exactly what I have always been doing. Just making the E chord Barre at the 7 off the A. That made me happy to see. Cause I’ve always been lazy and made the easy E. If Phil can then I for sure can. So I’ve been playing 40 years and learned something.

Def Leppard has always been my favorite band since I was an 80s teen. To say that they are still my favorite band speaks volumes about just how great a band they are. Their music and the band have stood the test of time. Can’t say that for many bands. And I am lucky to enough to have seen Def Lepp and standing close to the stage that I caught Phil’s guitar pick after his guitar solo. The members of this band do so much without media coverage that no one out there actually has or should say are made aware of how awesome these guys are...especially in putting aside their own private and personal time, for others where if only the public actually knew...holy shit...they would be nominated the worlds Nobel piece prize..seriously people! Phil alone, going out of his way to teach all the kids with cancer the guitar at hospitals, to time spent helping out and donating to others who are way more disadvantaged...
